I enjoyed a relaxing stay at Penzion Plesnivec. The room was clean and comfortable. The owners are very friendly and helpful, even cooking me dinner one night when I was too exhausted to move after a day out and about. I loved the open fire in the lounge downstairs with the comfortable couch. There is also a bar, so a wine can be enjoyed after a day hiking in the mountains. It is a 15–20 minute walk to the train station and around the corner from a lovely square with many restaurants to choose from. If you are travelling into the mountains, you will end up doing some extra walking commuting. The breakfast was delicious. Eggs any way you would like and a great selection of teas. There is also a fridge in the hallway to store food for the days when you leave before 8am. Watch out for the thieving taxi drivers. The ride from the train station to the guesthouse should only be about 3 euro. Thanks for a brilliant stay and the...
Read moreA nice family-run property located in between downtown Poprad and Spišská Sobota. It was a fairly easy commute, however, it might be even more convenient if you have a car.||The place itself is a cottage with a few rooms and a nice hall/dining room with a lovely fireplace. There was a good bunch of people sitting there with tea, which makes me think that this facility could be one of the deal-breakers for choosing this place instead of any other.||The room I stayed in had a teapot and cups (no sugar or tea or coffee were provided). I was also able to get a hairdryer (on request from the owner of the guesthouse).||The breakfast was served in the morning, eggs cooked to order. In my opinion, it was a good one. I definitely recommend choosing the option WITH breakfast when booking.||||Improvements:||1. Add tea/coffee/sugar to the teapot.||2. Add Shampoo/shower gel to...
Read moreWe spent here 3 nights, owners were fascinatingly kind. The biggest disadvantage is there aren't any shops nearby. We didn't have car to use and had to walk a bit too much. Unfortunately in Poprad, there are fewer shops than in my town which has 3000 citizens. But it isn't the problem of the pansion. Rooms were tidy, prices are correct. Breakfast could be a possibility. There's a nice playground in front of the house, great for children and even for adults to sit down and speak to each other. Wifi connection was brilliant as well. Because of the big railway station Poprad is reachable easily by train from Budapest via Kosice (and so on...) and many locations of High Tatras are available departing from Poprad. All in all, absolutely...
