So we wanted to come here for a long time and we had other accommodation so it was just 1 night and I glad it was only 1 night and not 4 like previous planned.

So the first room 505 look good and it was untill we came back at 8 pm to found out we were opposite a tavern/bar 🍻🍺 and being Friday night πŸŒƒ the noise was insane, being an old building the windows are very slim and noise comes straight though ...also some couldn't shut .

So we asked to move where we were told they were full only to be offered 2 rooms later one the same category we booked a few doors down 511 which unfortunately the noise was still bad and the windows did t shut .

So after being shown 413 a down grade we took as it was late , we only realised that as being next to the lift πŸ›— every time the lift moved our room moved and vibrated, so that was a bad night sleep for us .

It felt like we were bothering them and we were in the wrong for asking

In the morning πŸŒ„ I tredded on nails sticking out of the wood and the whole row of them was up.

Also the shower 🚿 door seals are broken so every timed u showered the bathroom floor was wet , also the fixtures are loose so seems we had a broken room they don't sell.

What's on checkout there was a big commotion as the night shift never handed over that we moved room so they couldn't find out car keys for awhile to , so seems communication isn't the hotel strong point either as coming from hospitality I know what a good handover is.

During our time the star for up and down when being shown the rooms to change to the housekeeping girl would sigh and the bar 🍻 was out of a few things too on the menu also they can't do cocktails 🍹 apparently they've been waiting for stock for months yet they have cocktail 🍸 🍹 glasses.

The only positive for me for from our one night was the breakfast πŸ₯ž 🍳 was pretty decent.

Overall I definitely won't come back πŸ”™

The music was not their fault but it heads up or if they know the music is going to be loud to give us a warning to see if we can maybe move rooms first or something like that.

The reception staff was so shocked when we reported it and yet it's all over there Google reviews.

As I said it's not there fault about the music its is about what happened afterwards

And the other positive that was one night and not four.

Also I was told parking was 100 rand a week before checking only it to be 140 on arrival.

These rooms are definitely overpriced branded hotels πŸ›οΈ

Much better accommodation elsewhere and...

Great hotel. Service attendants on par. Just minor issues to improve.

Valet: Ensure you have drivers with 10 years license and driving experience. First impression of my driver nearly damaged my rental car, fortunately it had a higher bumper.

Reception: When asked for a certain piece of equipment like an iron, it should not result in a guest calling three times in a space of 30 minutes from the first call.

Restaurant: Great menu, atleast have a bartender regardless of occupation. Poor waiter had to be bartender, waiter and utility between 5 tables. Mistakes are inevitable.

Security: Notice around the entrance doors are locked from a certain time. Security guard Vala, needs training on guest satisfaction. A suggested on notifying guests that the glass door should not be closed unattended before proceeding onwards since it is not even, Vala has the audacity to argue that "Now you know." "Now you you will know to close it." For myself I don't mind hearing this yet for an elderly person to experience this, extremely unprofessional.

Overall,...

I am a returning guest and had a disappointing stay. It was a disappointing experience from start to finish. The booking was made via phone, and I had to call back more than three times to complete the booking. The price said was more than the price on the website, but it was later sorted on the 4th phone call with a different person.

The room looked great but had so many mosquitoes, which was worrying as it was my first time seeing them. I had so many mosquito bites in the morning.

Netflix buffered the whole time, so I could not watch movies.

The breakfast was buffet which we were not told. After waiting for breakfast for a while, we had to ask to be served, and that's when the lady said it was a buffet. One of the kitchen staff members was helpful and friendly. The buffet had a delicious selection.

The staff was unhelpful and accommodative, and the overall atmosphere was cold.

The front desk staff must be newly hired because they were not operating like the people who worked there before. Overall, I think it was my last stay...

This was our very first time in Cape Town, and staying at the Old Bank Hotel made it truly unforgettable. From the moment we arrived, we felt incredibly welcome and taken care of. The hotel itself is absolutely beautiful, with a stylish and comfortable atmosphere, but what really stood out was the exceptionally kind and attentive staff. We felt so at home during our stay that, on our last evening, we chose not to go out for dinner in the city β€” instead, we enjoyed a delicious meal right at the hotel. We also had cocktails at the hotel bar on two nights, and the service was always quick, friendly, and professional. We had a wonderful time and would absolutely recommend the Old Bank to anyone visiting Cape Town. We’re already looking forward to coming back one day!
