Hobiebeach Guest House — Hotel in Eastern Cape

Lyn, Heidi and Fred run a superb, family-based guesthouse (HBGH). Their staff, who have all been part of the family for many, many years are all amazing too. Staying here is now part of an annual ritual for me. This time eight of us stayed using eight of the nine available rooms. And we all had a great time.||Location is 100m from the iconic Summerstrand sand and only about 250m from the Pier. The new Boardwalk Mall is even closer, a 2 min walk to one of the newest shopping experiences in SA!||Food at HBGH is delicious, cooked to order, creative, and abundant. Breakfast is so good there was no need to find a lunch venue!||The rooms are very clean and have all the amenities you could want. Strong hot showers, fans, throughflow of clean PE air. Big bright windows. Direct access to the secure gardens etc. If you. managed to out-think Lyn and find something missing, she would very quickly find it and provide it.||So a fantastic week, with the most hospitable family. I can't recommend this property...

What a gem of a place. This is a family run guesthouse who are supported by staff who have been part of the family for years. The first thing is the convenient location, 2 minutes from the mall, and a short stroll to the pier and restaurants. So that ticked our boxes straight away. |The property is secure with closed parking and has the advantage of a small swimming pool. Rooms are clean and well appointed with those extra touches that ley you know that they care about you and your stay. |Breakfast were good and huge with just what you need to start your day, no need for lunch |Lynn and Fred went over and above to help us out at the end of our South African holiday with nothing being too much trouble. Helping and supporting us with various issues including car hire return and dropping us off and picking us up. Our stay at the Hobie Beach Guest house left us speechless as the service we received compared to the price we payed was way beyond our expectations.The guest house is two streets away from the beach and is a ten minute walk to the shopping complex (summerstrand village) . When you are at the guest house you do not feel like you are overwhelmed as it is spacious. The breakfast is great and you have a variety of choices, you are not restricted even though you are vegetarian or vegan . Their employees are welcoming and are always willing to help you at anytime . We had the luxury of having an electric blankets as well as spare blankets. We are thankful for the service...
