Maartens Guesthouse — Hotel in Fresnaye

We had an amazing experience at Maarten’s Guesthouse. The breakfast was delicious, with fresh fruit salad, bread, and tasty egg dishes that were freshly prepared for us. The staff were incredibly friendly and took the time to explain everything about Cape Town and its surroundings, which was so helpful.

The location in a safe, quiet area of Cape Town was perfect. They went above and beyond—as they even drove us to a tour meeting point one morning, which was so thoughtful. When we had to leave early for our flight and couldn’t have breakfast, we were given generous lunch packs instead.

Maarten is a true host. Everything about our stay was just perfect. The guest house is in a great part of Capetown, rooms are beautifully furnished, everything is spotless. The breakfast is excellent. Maarten welcomes you personally upon arrival and has a never-ending amount of helpful information about the area. He showed us the perfect route to take to the Cape of good hope, where to go for dinner, where you can walk safely even at night, etc. On the morning of our departure he even got up early to say good-bye and to give us a lovely breakfast bag so we could eat before our flight home.
