Wonderful things to say about La Grenadine and Maxime (owner/host). The room was charming and well-appointed-- The reason I am giving a 4 star rating vs. 5 is simply because the room felt kind of... damp when we showered and never seemed to dry out. No doubt part of this had to do with load-shedding happening in Cape Town, as we couldn't run the fan/acon. This being said, this hotel is located in a great spot, and the courtyard is protected from the hustle and bustle of SA. I loved the decor and the breakfast. This place is worth staying at to meet Max alone-- He was our charming French uncle. Gave the best advice on what to do/not to do in Cape Town, facilitated us doing a large load of laundry, was there late at night and early in the morning. When we left we gave him a huge hug because he was honestly one of the best people we met on our travels. Thank you for the hospitality Max & La...
Read moreWe had the pleasure of staying at La Grenadine for 3 nights at the end of our long safari travels through South Africa. The comfort of a French Country home made our visit just what we needed after nearly a month on the dusty trail. The room was very comfortable, breakfast just perfect (French continental) and the staff and owners SUPERB! I had corresponded with Maxime numerous times and she always responded quickly and with great recommendations. Natalia, the morning manager was also helpful and kind. ||||We loved the location as well. It is in the Gardens Neighborhood with a number of historical/museum attractions as well as being safe and walkable. There are plenty of restaurants and shops as well.||||We HIGHLY recommend this "petite" jewel...
Read moreLittle gem in one of the best street of Cape Town. Close by walking distance to all the best restaurants and bars. The place is just beautiful. La grenadine ( pomegranate in English) has a big Grenadine tree at the entrance. The decor is spot on. Simple yet stylish. Very maison de campagne style in France. The rooms are specious. Well decorated and clean! The terrace upstairs was well thought , to read or have a coffee. The breakfast was excellent and with lots of choices. We were spoiled by Matthieu. He was a very friendly host, he knows all the best spots. Booked us a table in an amazing restaurant. If you plan to stay in Cape Town for few days. This...
