Review for Online AND in-store service:

Actually horrendous service. I can understand when businesses are busy and when they prioritise dine-in orders, but to this extent was completely outrageous.

Starting off the evening, I thought it would be nice to have some Sushi. Typically the restaurants on Uber eats update their wait time according to their occupancy at the restaurant, standard procedure right? Well apparently Sushi box have NO CONCERN for customer time. After placing an order at 6pm and the wait time indicating 40-50 minutes, we were happy to wait with the understanding that there would possibly be a 15-30 minute delay.

1 hour 30 minutes later (7:30pm) we called the restaurant and asked the Uber driver what was happening, not only was the restaurant rude but this poor driver had been waiting for almost 45 minutes for our order too.

After 2 HOURS the restaurant who knew we called had decided to CANCEL our order. How wonderful. After we called back and asked what had happened. Which was followed by continuous complaints and excuses on how the wait time was not relevant to “real-time” and so on.

To make up for the inconveniences which at this point was a 2h 10 minute wait, the manager decides to offer us our order for free and that he would personally deliver it. Now that might sound pleasant sure, and an offer to which we did accept but of course there is a catch. The order could only come at 8:30, to which we hesitantly agreed to.

After 3 HOURS from the original order, the manager arrived and apologised for the order delay. That’s some delay.

If you ever think about ordering, don’t. Rather go anywhere else.

The food: the order was partially wrong but the...

Unfortunately a comedy of errors - The starter portion of the main meal I ordered came which had no rice ( I had pointed out the main portion specifically on the menu when ordering). They said this does not come with rice. They saw their error and took it away to correct it, but came back 10min later with fresh rice and the now cold squid from the incorrect serving earlier. I returned the food and asked for the bill. The manager came and apologised and said hope you return, which was nice but shoud've taken up what had happened with the kitchen. We asked for the bill multiple times after that and waited. Bill came they asked us to pay, the waitress was clearly upset and silent. But it was the wrong bill. I asked for our bill, which we waited for. Then the machine wasn't working they went to fetch another, waited for that. Paid the bill added around a 12-13% tip anyway. The waitress still cold towards us and not even a thank you, she just walked away. We then went to the manager on the way out and mentioned there was no need to make the situation uncomfortable, to which she apologized and said I hope its better when you come again. There was no discussion around taking it up with the kitchen, waitress or any action for resolve...

It seemed the staff were simply untrained and just taking chances. Unfortunately not a very succesful time at Noodle Box /Sushi Box...

Possibly the worst experience I have had at a restaurant. The waiter took it upon herself to change our order because she got the order wrong. We sent it back and when we received our sushi, the prawn topping was soft and cold because they used the same topping. We decided to just eat it instead of waiting a second time for them to re-do our order. When we asked for the bill, she brought a receipt of R423. I gave her R600 cash and asked for a R100 change. She then came back and said your bill is actually R519 and you only have an R81 change. I then asked her where the receipt is for R423 she just gave me, to which she answered “I don’t know”. Another waiter then joined her and said it must have been another table’s receipt she gave you to which I asked, where is the receipt she just put in our table? She also didn’t know where the receipt was. All of this in the space of under 2 mins. The receipt has miraculously disappeared. Not even sure why if I left her the change of R600 when they were so blatantly incompetent. I had the same sushi order about 3 weeks ago at Sushi Box Cape Quarter and my bill...

One of few places I trust for proper quality sashimi and seared tuna/salmon. Their service is usually very quick so be careful of ordering edamame beans or something as a starter, their portions are also quite big. Personal favorites are the Sekuru and the Kamba (both seared tuna), the Harapenyo roll, and the vietnamese salad. Their Crispy (crunch) rolls aren't that great, but I'd definitely say go for their fresh options instead anyways. Always good to find a sushi place that doesn't rely on putting prawns on everything. Would be nice if they added a few more tea options though.

My husband and I decided to pop in to sushiBox before we headed to the Labia for a screening. We usually go to the Willowbridge branch and were excited to see if this one was as good. We were pleasantly surprised that they too were superb. Ambiance was lovely, sushi was yummy. We ordered the prawn poppers, bam bam rolls and the crispy prawn rolls. Everything was crispy where it needed and fresh where it had to be. The waitress was friendly and efficient and I do not think we waited more than ten minutes for our order. Will definitely be coming back.

I wonder how this people got 4.8 stars, maybe they never had the real sushi in their entire lives. The sushi was bland, tasteless, lifeless and dull. We basically ate only rice rolls, only a very small touch of tuna or salmon or avo. I went there only because they have good reviews but for sure I won't come back again also because after 27 pcs of sushi we were still hungry. I can tell the location was really nice and also the service, the waiters were friendly and polite.
