Used to be our favourite place to go for the best pizza slice you can imagine, whatever Time of day, with all the ladies night woman, but since some of the new staff arrived, I can hardly convince myself to dare even ask if I may order… oh, but it gets worse, you might actually be ignored and be unable to order, or told you can’t get the slices right in-front of you and to wait +-20 min for a fresh one to be prepared, as the available ones are reserved for IMAGINE the person behind you in the que??? How? Since when? Margaret, you should not work in hospitality, rather in a lab where being rude, unhelpful and literally refusing to assist and acknowledge loyal, regular customers, who have been supporting the brand you work for, for longer than you’ve been alive probably. The lack of and rude service leaves a bitter taste in one’s mouth.. thank goodness an old long term staff member saw how we were being treated and ignored and how the next customer was being served while we awaited to be helped last night. Thank goodness some of the older staff are still around, else this (use to be) gem would have lost us completely. Just because we are a different colour than you gives you no right to not help us, we are paying customers and normally leave big tips for the hard working staff.. it’s called the service industry girl! I’m in it myself and never met someone who gets away with being as rude and unhelpful like this girl does every time we go there and she’s there … disappointing to say the least … will be emailing management as well. This should not be...
Read moreI absolutely love this NY slice. The staff are always friendly and the pizza always fresh I drive all the way from fish hoek to come and enjoy this pizza. Even if I have to wait half an hour for a new pizza to be made, I will! because every slice is always perfect, tasty and warm. My only let down is two things one is that there is not enough selection I really wish they would make a few more selections to choose from but none the less it will not stop me from coming the second issue which I think is the most concerning and irritating is the vagrants that are always hounding you for money and no matter how many time you say no they still ask constantly not only that but it is a safety risk as they hang around for a person to not be paying a good amount of attention then they will strike and run off with your valuables especially cellphones this issue does need to be addressed quite urgently as it takes away from the vibe but it in no way brings down the NY slice keep up the...
Read moreI went out with friends on Friday night and ended up at a NY Slice for a quick bite. We were a sizable group, and the atmosphere inside got a bit lively. I placed my order with a woman behind the counter, but when it was ready, she said something I couldn't hear. Due to my height, I didn't notice they had placed the pizza slices on a counter higher than eye level. When a man beside her asked something, I assumed he was inquiring about my order, so I repeated it. Eventually, someone nearby pointed out the pizza on the counter. The guy serving us then rolled his eyes and chuckled. Working in hospitality myself, I know it's standard practice to hand over orders directly to customers in their hand. I felt embarrassed by the treatment I received; they made me feel foolish. Despite being a regular customer who enjoys their pizza, I won't be returning after that experience. It's important to treat all customers with respect, regardless...
