So I finally made my way to Ba-Pita It's now the second spot I've been wanting to try in Melville but just never drove that way in a while. During covid they closed down and I was really disappointed, but then I happened to see they reopened in another location closer to home. The day we picked to go for breakfast it was bucketing down with rain, and i managed to get a parking near the entrance. They are busy building a small parking lot behind them just fyi. 👍🏻 Of course all we came for was the Shakshuka, and then I decided to try the Breakfast Laffa with Tomato Smoor 😋 We started off with coffee while waiting for our food. The place is a simple yet funky setup. Had a chat to both Toerie and Gerald who were there that day, thank you and the team for your hospitality. The Shakshuka which is served all day, consists of Roasted Tomatoes, Red peppers, spices, mild chilli, herbs with 2 poached eggs, served homemade Labneh and fresh challah bread. My Laffa was a toasted flatbread served with scrambled eggs, pastrami sausage, halloumi, mushrooms and a side of tomato smoor. I wished either the laffa or the smoor had a kick of Chilli in it, it was lovely but I liked the spice in the Shakshuka. Then as a side we had the Falafel's. Perfectly fried and oh so yummy... We didnt have anything else as the portion sizes are pretty good, and the place filled up quickly. Definitely going back to explore some more menu items now that they closer to home, and I suggest you do too if you love yummy comfort food. Thanks to Bozzi as well for great service with a smile while there... See you guys soon. #TheFoodMusketeer #TheFoodMusketeerEats #TheFoodMusketeerDrinks #TFMBaPita

This place is a Gem. If you’re looking for quality food then this is the place. It is a middle-eastern inspired restaurant serving the best Zataar breads I’ve tasted. All shawarma, Laffa, pita and zataar breads are made fresh and from champagne valley stonemill flour (the best in SA) in a woodfire oven. The owners travel and source the best ingredients for their menu. Only the best Karoo Lamb and grass fed organic beef. No extra hormones ect. Same goes for the chicken. Nicely decorated and gets quite vibey on the weekend. I would recommend this place if you are into really good food, have a couple of friends and just order as many things to the table and share. They do offer platters with this concept. Get a few drinks and hang four hours at this place enjoying good food. Melville offers street parking only, bathrooms inside restaurant Outdoor dining area with umbrellas Wheelchair accessible from the outdoor dining area.

What a complete gem in the vibrant suburb of Melville! Location : On one of the main streets in Melville surrounded by a variety of different stores. Parking available on street, safe and easily accessible. Reception : Staff are present at the door allowing a very warm welcome with very positive reception. Plenty of friendly staff to tend to guests Setup : Very spacious and comfortable consisting of indoors, as well as outdoors seating at the back of the restaurant. Clean and pleasant. Food : Flavor profiles spot on for the various dishes. Authentic quality and quantity appropriate. Reasonably priced. Variety of veg and meat options. Emphasis on flavor, it’s proper! Overall : Amazing food and amazing staff ensuring an awesome experience!
