This luxurious B&B is a short Uber ride from Hatfield station, easy to reach via the safe and speedy Gautrain from Jo'burg airport (change at Marlboro). Everywhere in Pretoria is accessible by Uber and it is rare to wait for more than a few minutes except sometimes in the rush hour. My room had a bath with a hand shower which was fine by me, but if you prefer a walk-in shower then ask when you book. All rooms are on the ground floor. Rooms 1 and 2 are in the main house so you can hear comings and goings and breakfast, the other rooms are probably quieter and a bit more private, but I was in room 2 and it was very spacious and comfortable. One of the universities booked it for me, I didn't choose it for myself, but if I had been making my own choice I might well have chosen this place. At breakfast there is only one table nice way to meet interesting people and share interesting stories and see how small the world really is! Met two fellow academics from the Netherlands who gave me travel advice on my holiday...
Read moreA fantastic experience. We arrived in the country at 0400 in the morning and booked at a guest house near this one, but never got the address. We were set to book in at 0600, but the booked guest house never got back to us, so we rang the bell for this one - Osborne House. They helped us out by giving us space and allowed us in early too. We are so grateful and relieved as we just got off a 9-hour flight with little to no sleep. Thank you. One point for consideration is AC in the rooms. We came from the northern hemisphere (winter) and now are struggling with the heat! But a lovely place at great...
