Beautifully designed hotel, but not quite 5 stars due to three factors: privacy, noise, and restaurant oddities.

Our room was beautiful, with ocean view and a balcony, but the “rooftop” bar’s balcony was only 5 feet away and had a direct view onto our balcony and into our bedroom. The nearest revelers were standing no more than 10 feet from us and we had to close the curtains for privacy. For this reason I would avoid room 8 if you stay there.

For the hefty price and attention to detail in the rooms, the lack of double glazed windows was also surprising, and unfortunate. The location on a busy corner meant that we had loud street noise all night, and the noise from the very close rooftop bar’s balcony was very intrusive. Thankfully this bar closes at 8pm, however.

Surprising mistake by the kitchen, too. A small piece of pork sausage sneaked under my poached egg in the vegetarian mediterranean breakfast. Also, breakfast starts at 7:30, but we were told pastries would not be cooked until after 8:30/9.

Best place for an early morning breakfast.

Took the teenagers for breakfast this morning at the newly opened Ivory Haus. What a beautiful lush Botique Hotel with Restaurant and soon to open Coffee shop.

For breakfast, I indulge myself in some pumpkin hotcakes drizzled with honey and sprinkles of toasted pumpkin seeds, a dollop of yogurt parfait with 2 rashers of bacon. What a treat to my stomach early in the morning.

My daughter had the Corn and Bacon fritters with a spicy salsa, little pieces of grilled baby corn, and guacamole with a poached egg on top.

My son had the Palms breakfast, which just looked scrumptious with the perfect grilled mushrooms, baby tomatoes, bacon, eggs, a pork sausage, and some toast. Perfect meal for a hungry pre-teen boy 👦

For drinks, I had a lovely cappuccino, and the two kids had a oh so chocolatley hot chocolate!

Our waiter was very attentive and friendly.

Owners of Ivory Haus made us feel welcomed and gave us an amazing experience. Well done to your Talented Chef!
