Gordon's Guesthouse — Hotel in Green Point

This is not necessarily a bad rating,it's more feedback The owner is a lovely man,extremely helpful,but I think his cleaning team let's him down Our room had cobwebs in the corner and smelt very musky,like the windows had not been opened in a long time. We had coffee,tea and sugar in the room but no milk. It's has these beautiful french doors but the blinds don't stay open and even if they do the doors open and you can see someone else's room. The shower water takes very long to heat up, I ended up having a cold shower twice. The bathroom although beautiful is not ensure,so you have to shower and dash to your room to change. The bath tub had no plug. The shower is modern with the no walls but this just caused a wet mess on the floor. There is no breakfast on site, you have to walk down the road to a Bistro. The most important thing though is that you cannot lock your room door from the inside room at night. It made me feel uneasy not because of thr owner but just because of the safety factor Like I said,it's not negative , it's just just...

Staff travelling for our company had a terrible experience despite spending limited time at their accommodations during a recent business trip:||Broken &Used Acrylic Nail Found in Shower||No Toilet Paper provided||No Towels provided||Box of chamomile tea, no other refreshments on offer||Owner entering room of guests without their permission whilst they were out||Owner entering guest's room without knocking/permission to enter whilst she was in the room||Classical music blaring throughout the house||Bathroom not en-suite despite booking of room with en-suite facility at premium price||No resolution of any of the issues despite repeated attempts at resolving matters via e-mail to make the staff members' stay more pleasant||Complete lack of dealing with issues presented or...

Gordon is a great host. And very helpful. Due to the descriptions on the website, we had a misunderstanding of the price and accommodations when we got there. This is the fault of the website, not Gordon's. We worked out a fair agreement so we ended up staying an extra night. ||||For the record, Gordon's rents out rooms in his home. He has three rooms available and the price is based on one room. Gordon has a gorgeous home in an upscale and safe area of town...De Waterkant.
