Kingston Place Guesthouse — Hotel in KwaZulu-Natal

I live about 30 miles east of Sacramento, CA I’m the foothills. I used to live in Durban a long long time ago. I’m a bit late with my review as I had knee replacement surgery after I returned home.

Approximately 4 years ago I stayed at Kingston Place when the previous owner was alive .. he was very nice and I was comfortable there.

So I decided when I returned to Durban earlier this year to settle my late mother’s Estate that I’d stay there again.

I was surprised to find that it was under new ownership.

All I can say is that Naomi and Martinus are the best hosts one could ever have. They have made many changes for the better...

The rooms have new window privacy blinds and have been tweaked with new artwork. The room refrigerators are generously stocked - so there is no necessity to go shopping for snacks/drinks etc.

There is a great choice of breakfast items and visitors can select what time they would like to eat. One day they didn’t receive their croissant delivery - so when I asked about them Naomi surprised me by whipping up some lovely hot homemade pinwheels. This is how thoughtful they are.

I loved sitting in the office with them after breakfast and having a chat.

The staff are also very happy and cheerful. It was a pleasure seeing their smiling faces at breakfast and during the day while they were cleaning the rooms etc.

I thoroughly recommend anyone who would like to stay near Umhlanga to stay at Kingston Place... The location is great - lovely and quiet. There is lots of safe parking in their gated garden. It is minutes from Gateway Mall, Umghlanga beachfront and most important of all; not far from King...

Exceptional B&B Stay - Felt Like Home!

I'm still reeling from the incredible experience I had at this wonderful B&B. From the moment I arrived, I felt like I was part of the family. The owners went above and beyond to make me feel welcome, cared for, and assured.

The location is perfect - nestled in a quiet area, far from the hustle and bustle, making it easy to relax and unwind. The rooms are immaculately clean, spacious, and well-appointed. The room service is top-notch, and I loved the extra touches, like the complimentary coffee and tea, as well as the sweet treats and wine available for purchase.

The pool area is pristine and perfect for a refreshing dip. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay and would highly recommend this B&B to anyone seeking a home-away-from-home experience.

Additional perks include a delicious breakfast available upon request and a safe, convenient location near the beach. Five stars isn't enough - I'd give it ten...

I can't really think of anything negative about the place (or is that because I'm just a 17 year old?) Nonetheless, as we teens would say, the place was pure awesomeness. My family and I booked into the guesthouse last year during the Christmas season. We stayed in the apartment for about 5 days with a beautiful view of the ocean ahead though the beach itself was a little distance away. The guesthouse also included breakfast (at a separate fee) that my family and I devoured every day of our stay. Compliments to the chefs by the way. The couple owning the establishment were wonderful. The staff too as well as our neighbors in their own ways - let's not forget our tailed friends and literally their monkey business.
