Absolutely horrendous experience.

We visited Santa Ana Spur on Sunday 13 July 2025.

We have a six month old daughter, who was asleep in her Noola Sprint pram. Upon entering the Spur and asking for a table for 7 people, the lady at the door told us to leave our pram at the entrance. I explained to her that my daughter was asleep in said pram. She told me to remove the car seat (our pram doesn't have a car seat, it is a fixed structure) and leave the pram at the door. I once again explained that there isn't a car seat to remove, that the pram is a fixed structure with a click in chair, that cannot be put down like a car seat. She then proceeded to tell me to remove my sleeping daughter and leave the pram at the door???

Not only is this extremely unreasonable to potentially wake up a sleeping baby, but we also did not feel comfortable to leave our very expensive pram at the door, for someone to potentially steal?

We immediately left and went to eat at another restaurant in the Waterfront, that gave us a lovely table that could accommodate our pram, without us asking or without any comments.

This is absolutely shocking to me, as we have been to many restaurants and coffee shops and have never been treated this unreasonably.

I always thought Spur was a family restaurant that went out of their way to accommodate parents with little kids and babies. Clearly this is not the case anymore.

My husband and I are now unsure if we will ever be able to visit any Spur, wondering if this is how we will be treated every time we go out with our baby daughter and want to...

We had a very unfortunate meal last night. Having ordered steaks and sauce and other meals. When the steaks arrived as medium rare on a hot plate. By the time the sauce arrived the steaks were well done. These were sent back. The sauce then arrived. Once thebsteaks were served again the sauces were then cold. Another waiter quickly fixed the problem. One of the steaks was great. The other was full of gristle and not the usual standard that I would expect from Spur. Overall a disappointing night and although the manager who eventually arrived at the end of the meal offered some desserts on the house and the gristly steak on the house. It had taken 1 hour and 15 minutes to finally get food once again not Spurs standard. The play canyon is disappointing in comparison to others and there is not a wheelchair accessible toilet in the resturant. This is the second dissaponitng meal i have had here now. Not sure if I will return.

Following on from the original post the owner contacted us amd invited us back to the restuarant. The service and food were both exceptional. I must commend both Yolanda and Luca, the managers on duty as they went out of their way to ensure excellence. In addition Vuyo our server was efficient and provided excellence. This is the type of service I would expect from a tourist destination resturant. I have amended my original 2 stars to 4 and will return again based on the efforts that were made to improve client...
