PRIMI V&A Waterfront — Restaurant in Foreshore

Before relocating in the mall, the service and standard of food was top notch. My husband and I were there today and what a terrible experience. From the moment we got to the door , there were nothing but red flags. We stood outside along with 2 other customers before us waiting to be seated whilst every waiter just walked pass even though they were not doing anything. When we took our seat, we were told that we could not sit there because we were only 2 people, I am pregnant so I needed to sit on the couch due to the chairs being extremely uncomfortable. After moving,our waiter(guy with glasses) came and rushed us to order even though we had just sat down and never had a chance to look at the menu . I ordered my drink and my husband was still deciding but was told by the waiter to hurry up because he wanted to put through my drinks order . I ordered a strawberry daiquiri mocktail that tasted like syrup. Which was very disappointing because they used to had the best mocktails . He was even more annoyed when we asked for more information on the pastas as we usually ordered certain things but the menu had changed . They don’t offer portion sizes anymore and when my husbands pasta arrived, it was a kids size pasta. Looking at everyone else’s reviews on the pasta,it was not at all what others were given(portion wise). Even worse that I asked the waiter if my pasta was spicy, he said it has a little bit of chilli but he will ask the chef not to add it. I told him that was fine but not to add too much. When my pasta came, it was the wrong pasta as I asked for Penne but was brought linguine. When I called the lady, she did not apologise, she just told me that I will need to wait longer for them to redo it. Instead of asking if I’d want them to redo it, she walked away from me clearly making her mind up that she did not want to take it back. When I called her again to fix my food to what I had ordered, the time they came my husband had finished. Then to make matters worse, my pasta was undercooked, there was 3 pieces of chicken in it, and the pasta was unbearably spicy (consider what I had told him previously and that I’m 9 months pregnant). My husband could not even eat it,that’s how spicy it was. Throughout,we never complained once. Even after being ignored multiple times and overlooked. No one came to ask once if all was fine. My husband called over the waiter just to tell him that the pasta was really spicy. He blamed me and said that he told me it had chilli. Even after I said not to make it spicy and he could clearly see I was pregnant. Instead of offering a solution(in which we were willing to pay for something else for me) he just walked away. I sat there hungry and annoyed with this whole experience in which is supposed to be considered “fine dining”. We just asked for the bill and sent to food back as is. Why would we want to takeaway something inedible? The other lady looked annoyed and said something to her colleague as if because they redid the order,I was expected to eat it. It was clear who their main target of decent service went to. I observed that well. Just know you will receive bottom of the barrel service from this branch. I like Primi because it has a variety of options to choose from. Their food is of high quality and super tasty. The deco is very modern and cozy, makes you feel warm inside. The waiters are all very friendly and welcoming. Their service is very fast and efficient.

From the time we arrived at the door we were welcomed with smiles, we were asked were we would like to sit and taken to the outdoor sitting as per my preference. The view was great. The table we sat on was dirty so I had to ask the waiter to clean it. Not sure what the waiters name was because he didn't introduce himself and I didn't see his name tag. The service was quick and the restaurant wasn't busy while we were there.

I was a bit disappointed with the amount of linguine I got since I asked for the upside. I was expecting more. Despite the small portion the pasta itself was al dente, the vegetables were still crunchy (which I like), the whole meal was flavorful. My only concern was the amount of oil left on my plate once I was done eating.

The pizza had way too much coriander, I mean I love coriander but there was way too much, it wasn't a coriander pizza. We ordered the Moroccan chicken pizza which was very delicious.

The chocolate brownie milkshake had bits of brownies in it and it wasn't too sweet. It had just the right amount of chocolate, brownies and milkshake.

Primi is a children friendly restaurant and a good place to enjoy a meal with family and friends. On the day I was there they had a problem with the POS system and clients were asked to use Snap Scan to make payments. Later there was a problem with Snap Scan as well and we had to go withdraw money from the ATM to make cash payments for our meal. Not The The Type Of Individual To Complain In Restaurants Or Write Reviews, I Went To Primi V&A For The First Time As I Thought It Would Have Been A Great Spot For A Sunday DATE Night & What Shocking Service I Had Ever Came Across In My Life Firstly The Waiter Never Introduced himself , Had An Atitude Cause We Needed 5 minutes To Take A Look At The Menu , Then proceeded to forget our starter so we only received our mains by a different waiter . No one came to check on the table( No Management Table checks done )to see if we were enjoying the food or tried to even upsell on the dishes we ordered I then eventually got the Waiters attention after about 20 30 minutes later and asked him where's was the 3rd dish and told me he had forgot to order it after rushing us to order our food . I then proceeded to tell him to place the order as well as our dessert order , again a different waiter dropped the food at this point I was highly upset and just wanted to leave the restaurant and as I turned around to look for our waiter he was sitting behind us with a few other waiters casually eating at a table inthe restaurant I was so shocked !!
