My family and I booked a room for 4 nights in this hotel so we got there around 5pm snd checked in on a Friday. We got the key and it looked busy given the time in which we took we decided to go up in to our room as it seemed like no one can help us with out bags which was fine because again it's busy and people are checking in. We go up on the lift and we walk around trying to find our room number but we couldn't it until we saw on the butlers (if that's the correct word for them) and he advised us to wait for him so we could escort us to our room and so we wait.A couple of mins later he comes out of the room and leads the way and on our way there I just remember us looking at each other like confused as to what's going on. We enter a place that's like the behind the hotel, we pass the kitchen and go into a lift and the whole time we are just confused at the condition of where we're walking and going to we get into the lift and still the condition of the place looks like it's not maintained well, it just looks like a old building. So finally we get to the room and we all just looked around and no one was happy about the room. We tried to switch the lights on but it was still dark, looked at the condition the room was in and it was just not what we expected especially because it wasn't our first time there and we knew we couldn't swap rooms because again the hotel is packed so there was no way do we called reception and asked them to come check out the lightning and the guy on the phone just said ok but nobody came so called again asking for the same thing and also asked for a iron and kettle and this time it was a lady and she also says ok. Then the butler comes through with just the kettle and we ask him for the other stuff,he says that he is coming back with the iron but he doesn't know anything about the lights. We call reception again and the person on the phone says and I quote "what do you want again?" "What else do you want?" So my sister answered and said the room is dark and they say ok. Then moments later someone from maintenance comes to check it out and he also confirms that it's dark and they weren't aware so he goes back and comes back and fixes it. This was just under an hour or 2 since check in and we're already and the condition of the room, the furniture is old, the head boards look like they're from 10+ years ago, the beds are rock solid-singles beds and the double beds are also uncomfortable and it like they have holes in the middle like they're uneven. Customer service is non existent, we have to ask for simple things like tissue on a daily basis, the people in reception are just not bothered and can't speak to customers at all, I work in a customer servicing sector so I know how a business is run especially if you're client facing. Customers need to keep calling for service is absolutely unacceptable and that wasn't enough the bathroom was disgusting, the shower is big but only 1 person can shower at a time because there's 1 shower head and 5ge water pressure is low but that's not the biggest issue, the shower is disgusting, it had moles showing that the place is not well kept and not cleaned at all and I even took pictures because I couldn't believe my eyes. Fungal infections are hard to treat, I know because I've had it and the medication is expensive so this hotel has basically showed that they don't care about hygiene, our health or wellbeing. I regret going there and hate that I paid money for such, I'm utterly disgusted in everything this hotel has to offer

Beautiful location for a hotel. Just close to the beach enough to take a walk there. The service was not best I've seen, the receptionist was not really welcoming. We were in room 324 and one would think it would be straightforward to find the room because no one told any of us that this not an easy room to find especially if its your first time. But after getting lost we finally got assisted by some gentleman there. And then there was the room🤔. Other than the sheets smell a bit off they were torn. The plug point was a nightmare as there was just one plug point and it is just hidden next to the standalone wardrobe. Not even close to change a phone and use it in bed. Ironing too. The hot water was an interesting too, it took a good 8 to 10 minutes to come out. The place was not comfortable at all. Its misrepresentation, nothing else but misleading people who book based online pictures. I've never in my entire life had to stay in a filthy place with torn bedding and noisy passages. The receptionist was horrible she doesn't even care to update us about where to go at all. Never in my life will i return or recommend this to anyone.

Booked this place on Agoda to check-in on the 6th between 10am-11am out the 7th. When we got the hotel we were told we can't checkin because the rooms were being fumigated. We were told we can only be checked in 15:00. "Maybe we will call you around 13:30", the rooms manager said. My experience as a Hotel Duty Manager which also taught me read situations and people, somehow i felt the story was a brush-off. The hotel should never make it possible for people to book an early checkin online. We would have never booked with them if we knew we were not gona be allowed to checkin early. We couldn't even cancel the booking cause we paid online when we made the booking i also blame myself for not reading their cancellation policy in which you forfeit 100% of your money on a same day cancellation. Ah well, we asked for our luggage to kept and off went to a mall to pass time as tired as we were from traveling the entire weekend. No call nothing as i dawned on us that we were brushed off. At 15:30 we got to the hotel from the mall. As we were checking in we asked for an street facing room and the same rooms manager told us we need to pop an extra R400 for us to be moved.😳ok we went to the assigned inner facing room. They gave us the darkest dingiest room they had. Went back to reception to understand the room difference between the inner facing room and the street facing rooms. I wa stold the street facing rooms we delux rooms and we should have booked a delux room online. BUT THE PRICE DIFFERENCE OF THE TWO ROOM TYPES ONLINE WAS R30. 😤I FELT THE R400 WAS ANOTHER BRUSH-OFF OR AN ATTEMPT TO RIP US OFF. THE CUSTOMER SERVICE AT THIS PLACE IS NONSENSICAL: THEIR APPROACH IS NOT CUSTOMER ORIENTATED. WE WERE MADE TO FEEL LIKE WERE BOTHERING THEM. WHEN YOUR MONEY IS IN THD BANKS THEY DONT CARE WHAT HAPPENS TO YOU, YOU MUST JUST SWALLOW EVERY NONSENSE THEY GIVE YOU. .NEVER EVER BOOK AT THIS PLACE AND PAY IN ADVANCE. NEVER EVER BOOK USING THE WEBSITE CALLED AGODA , THEY SHOULD NOT ALLOW BOOKINGS FOR CHECKING TIMES NOT SUPPORTED BY THE HOTEL. I FEEL SCAMMED BY THESE TWO ENTITIES I REPEAT!!!!!!!!! NEVER EVER BOOK AT THIS PLACE AND PAY IN ADVANCE. NEVER EVER BOOK USING THE WEBSITE CALLED...

Here is my full review and honest opinion as someone who came down for business. The Pavillion Hotel has seen better days. Let’s start with that. I requested early check in. And I got helped fast. The service was great from the get go. The staff were always friendly and I really didn’t have any issues with that. My issues were the following small things that just add to the overall experience: In the hotel the walls/tiles/corners are dirty in some spots. It definitely takes away from a “luxury” feeling and does make one a bit sceptical of the cleanliness of the place in general. In the room I did not have any shampoo, body wash, or toothpaste provided. I know most hotels and guesthouses do this. I was shocked to see they did not. I had to order checkers for shampoo that night (haha) 3.The room also didn’t have an iron (despite saying it did) nor did it have milk (for the coffee and tea). It didn’t even have a bottle of water. 4.The food was unfortunately very mediocre. Genuinely nothing great, but not bad either. I also think it’s prices good for what you get. However, the breakfast (that was included in the price) was not good at all. 5.The location of the hotel is s##tty, it’s close to the city centre so you feel a bit unsafe walking outside. It was also very very noisy because a group of people decided that the parking lot across from my room was a good party area. I know the hotel can’t control this, but it definitely was annoying.

Overall the staff was what made the stay bearable. If not for that I think it would’ve been a bit disappointing. I don’t think you get what you pay for, if you’re looking for luxurious hotel/business trip luxury and convenience I would suggest a hotel on the other side of the river. Pay for the uber, it’s worth it I promise.

Not a bad place, but unfortunately I would...
