Oh boy, where do I start. Okay, I was taking my little girl out for ice cream on Saturday. Well, we enjoyed our walk and she had her favourite ice cream at Milky Lane next to Joe Kools. We left the shop And I remember carrying her on my back on the way home. I get home and decided to charge my cell phone.... But my cellphone 📱 was no longer on my person. I checked her bag, nope, it was not there... I had dropped it on the way back home. I realized probably left at Milky Lane. I went back, it's only 10 min from my flat. I asked the staff if they had seen me leave and if they found a cellphone on the table. The staff said they had seen me leave but didn't notice any cellphone 📱 left on the table... It was at that moment I realized the importance of tipping the staff who serve you... O, just being light hearted, I always do. Nevertheless, the manager came and asked if I had called the number on my cell phone 📱 at that moment I realized it should've been the first thing I did. He borrowed me his phone to call. Look, for those who don't like mystery and suspense, scroll to the end. I called my number and a lady answered, I thought for sure my cellphone 📱 was gone and she was gonna hang up...she didn't. She asked who I was and I explained I was the owner of the phone in her possession. She asked my location and said she was an officer at the South Beach satellite policestation... And that my phone was dropped there by a cyclist who found it on the pavement opposite the station, just a minute from where I was... I went over, did the normal security checks and received my phone in good order. The good Samaritan who found it left his details and I called and thanked him... In this day and age of desperation, any other person might have just taken it. I was greatful. I still owe those nice police officers ice-cream 🍦 when I go back there. They certainly deserve our respect...
