The food was great. But the service was the worst I have ever received in my entire life.. I made payment via credit card and I received the sms , plus I went onto my online banking as well to get confirmation.. However , for some reason it did not go through on their side. I was told in a very rude and abrupt way by the supervisor that I need to settle the bill before I leave , she even told me that there is no other way to solve this and it isn't her fault. She then called her Food and Beverages Manager to speak to me about the situation , he was even more rude than she was. He continued to tell me how this isn't his fault and it is now my banks fault and I need to take it up with them.. He then demanded payment from me and threatened to call security. He made it seem like I am a criminal of some sort. He also mentioned that this happens to all the regulars and they do not complain about it , he even made a statement about me not understanding what he is trying to tell me.. I informed him that I am willing to give him all my details and if the payment does not reflect , I will personally come in and make payment directly to him or he can hand me over to the police. This was not an option for him. He then tried to guilt trip me on how the waiter will be liable for the bill at the end of the day and how would I feel knowing that the waiter had to cover the costs...I felt this treatment was totally unacceptable and uncalled for , I felt humiliated and disgusted by them. I was in customer services and not one day did I ever treat any of my customer's this way. I was then asked to walk in the sun to the garage , instead of the Food & Beverages manager showing me the way through the hotel he waited at the back smoking a cigarette watching if I go to the bank yet my partner was waiting for me inside the restaurant. I would never advise anybody to ever set foot into this...
Read moreI had several meals at Vigor and Verve while staying at the Elangeni and really enjoyed this restaurant. Breakfast is set up as a marketplace/buffet style. The deserts are placed on trays on a large table near the entrance - irresistible! For dinner I had the pasta #1, a vegetarian dish with penne, mushrooms, garlic and creamed spinach. It was just the comfort food I was seeking after a long 24hrs of travel from the States. Of course, I tried the Malva Pudding for dessert and loved every (incredibly) sweet bite of it. During the day, try to sit near the windows where you can be near the plants and all the activity on the sidewalks. I recommend dining here even if you're not a hotel guest because it's conveniently located along the...
Read morePlease train the waitresses as to how to treat all the people who walk in the with neutral respect. I walked in and no waitress was at the entrance so I went to take a seat, our table was passed by two different waitresses and none of them bothered themselves with asking if we had been served or not. I stood up and went to the entrance to ask for the menu and found two ladies standing there and only then were we attended to. It is not a place to go to if you are a person who likes to eat in a quiet and reserved place as they host birthday lunches and baby showers there, there are no separate rooms designed to...
