Hospitality of the place is much above expectations! Kim, the owner of the guest house, and Peter are so magnetic and fascinating, they were so nice to meet us at the airport in person, that was first pleasure we felt in Durban - among countless good feelings we felt withing our one week stay in Holland House B & B! !!! This guest house is one of the safest place to stay in Durban. Electric high fence Interriors and room design creates that necessary real spirit of the land once we entered, so we received first impression of south african culture and dived into Africa right away. 1-bed room suit with huge dining room and big bathroom at our private service, hot water - no problems unlike in Cape Town. Safe provided. Nice view from our wibdows was stunning (room 1). Swimming pool in the yard. Safe parking lot. Braai (barbeque) organized by Peter was simply the best in my life, save me Lord! Mamma mia! I wish I had such at least once a year, pleeeease!♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡ Delicious continental breakfast served nicely with the best cappuccino, as local milk is so fresh and delicious, don't miss it! Safe (!!!) and quiet district (Florida Road is one of local fancy areas unlike city center), we walked outside after dark with no worries. Fancy restaurants in walking distance, try Butcher Boys and get complimentary wines just because you stay in HH. Feather pillows available on request. Kim and Tania (thanks a billion!) were so kind to help us with organizing safaris, city tours, giving advices Bonus: monkeys outside in the morning🐒🐒🐒🐒🐒🤣

But most important was my soul and piece of mind. You know, guys... When I was staying at Kim''s, I felt like staying at my granny's which meant I had no worries at all, I was not stressed a single second, as if I was at home, my granny's home...)) Great thanks, Kim and Peter for your hospitality, absolutely perfect customer approach and ambience you created for all of us!

Overall a great experience. Especially from the staff, Elliot and Maggie. Friendly, supportive and attentive. What one would expect from South Africans. The breakfasts are simple but good enough for a good start to each day. Fruit salads, cereals and typical eggs and bacon on offer. Location wise, it’s close to Florida road and Spiga/Vida for easy eating and coffee runs. Rooms are comfortable, and clean with daily cleaning. Super safe overall and trusted long term staff. The house itself is decorated with antiques and a mix of modern furnishings. The owners were both present and really supportive on a number of occasions. Very kind and warmhearted people who create the same for the atmosphere. I really enjoyed my stay of 2.5 weeks, and I would stay here again. I had room no. 10 with sofas on the terrace and pool view. Recommended!...

Probably my favorite guesthouse in all South Africa, and definitely my preferred spot in Durban. I often go there for work and always stay at Holland House. The welcoming, the huge rooms, each different to the previous one, those rusks that save me when I am starving after a late night flight, the lovely breakfasts, the views over the CBD, being able to freely (and mostly, safely) walk around, having a great variety of restaurants and cafés just three minutes away, the playful monkeys you find around, the streets full of jacarandas in spring, the very well maintained old architecture… I’ve stayed there at least five times already and just can’t wait to go back again.

So, location, 10; rooms, 10; breakfast, 10; staff, 10; quality/price, 10 plus the extras of...
