Florida Park Hotel — Hotel in Windermere

We stayed one night at the hotel, the location was perfect. We received a warm welcome and had a pleasant stay except for one incident. In the morning, we asked for coffee and milk, only to receive ONLY coffee. The housekeeper then said she was not told about the milk, to which I let her know I made the request to reception and asked for fresh cups as well. I tried to hand over the used cups but she stood at the store and did not receive them, which I thought was odd. I placed the cups on the floor and took the coffee sachets- only two by the way. She turns to leave, with no acknowledgement that she will bring the other requested stuff, or at least check with reception. She returned almost fifteen minutes later, with no apology or anything; simply handed over the additional tea stuff and walked off. I offered her the used cups, but she stood by the storage area and did not take them, which I found odd. I ended up placing the cups on the floor and took only two coffee sachets. She turned to leave without acknowledging whether she would bring the milk or at least check with reception.

Florida Park Hotel is on Florida road in Durban, it lays just above a night club called Keys on Florida. Surprisingly from my room on the second floor, the sound from the busy street was well contained. I think they did a really great job with preventing the sound in the hotel. The bed was very comfortable and bathroom clean and relatively new. There is a smoking area on the balcony on the second floor as well.

Parking was a bit of a problem when it is fully booked. Come early and find a hustle free parking spot.

The hotel was good. Had a little hiccup at checkin but the staff resolved the issue to my satisfaction. I have 2 observations which I hope the manager will take note of and rectify

1. the windows would not seal closed so street noise etc... was disturbing. As the hotel is built in a very busy hence noisy part of Durban they should pay attention to ensuring the rooms are properly sound froofed
2. the bath towels are hand towels😡. A decent sized bath towel would get a big thumbs up from me. Otherwise a...
