I stayed here for one night. I chose this hotel because of one of those mystery deals that you can get online. The reviews said 5 star and that it was a great hotel. | I was unimpressed. The front desk is not easy to get to and the taxi couldn't find it clearly. |When I got to reception there was garbage on the floor even though a receptionist was at the desk.|I had a lot of luggage and when I checked in and said that I needed assistance to get my luggage up, the clerk pointed to a trolley in the corner and said I could use that but I needed to return it. |I was taken aback. I struggled to put my luggage on the trolley. She at least attempted to help me but wasn't really trying. In the end I just told her I would manage. This was the only "service" that I received in this hotel.|The way the "hotel" is situated it's in an office building converted into residences. So the elevator is actually down a public corridor before getting into the elevator to your floor. I struggled to navigate the trolley up to my room. |The room itself is spacious and clean with kitchenette, washing machine and small table and chairs. But there were signs everywhere in the room with price lists for every single thing. Extra towels would be charged, shampoo, cream and other toiletries outside of the basic bathroom soap had a charge. It made me wonder what I had actually paid for. |I felt like I was in a guesthouse or hostel the way it was set up.| A friend came to pick me up and the reception told her what room I was in and directed her to go to my room , which was shocking in this age of privacy and safety. I guess I was expecting this place to be like a boutique hotel. So it was probably my mistake not to understand that this was really a glorified guesthouse pretending to be a budget hotel. |What you are paying for is the convenient location to Haundae Beach and the restaurants and nightlife in the area.|If you are looking for a bed to just plant your luggage and being close to the beach and touristy areas then this is okay for you. |But if you are expecting service and a place to feel welcome, I would suggest...
Read moreWe (two adults and two teens) stayed in this serviced apartment for 5 days in August. ||Ciel De Mer shared the same premises with another hotel (although with different entrances), hence it would be a bit difficult in locating it from the main road. Most of the taxi drivers could only locate it via the navigator once given the co-ordinates. There was only two elevators serving 5-storeys carpark and 22 storeys apartment, hence during peak season you have to be patient in lining up for the elevator, especially when there was an influx of tourists on Friday and Saturday. It's one to two minutes walking distance from Haeundae beach, hence a very good base for those beach lovers. Convenience stores were just at the doorstep. Restaurants including the popular Jejuga just next door. ||There was a lot of car-parking spaces at the basement. In terms of public transportation, it's far from the metro station - at least 10-15 minutes walking distance, and would not be an easy walk under the fierce sun. Mostly we travelled by taxi - to Busan Station around 15000 won; to BECOM around 5000 won; to Jalgachi Market around 20000 won; to BIFF around 9000 won.||The one-bedroom partial seaview apartment was clean, spacious and new, with user-friendly facilities and electrical appliances, viz. security system, air-con, rice-cooker, washing machine, fridge etc. Excellent sound proofing effects as we heard nothing from our neighbours with babies and toddlers. Toiletries were not provided. The reception was very busy as there were a lot of tourists during summer. ||Recommended for travellers at all ages, especially families with...
Read moreHotel Ciel de Mer is far from the Metro subway (15-20minutes' walk). I recommend other travellers to go there from the airport by limousine bus. You can get off at Paradise Hotel Haeundae and walk 5-8 minutes to Hotel Ciel de Mer.||The staff are friendly. The male staff who helped me check in could speak Putonghua fluently and understood English very well. He spoke like a friend, and smiled a lot, and was very helpful. That made a good start of the trip. ||I booked a semi-double bed room but was upgraded to a suite, city view. The hotel provided English translation for using the air-conditioners, heater and laundry machine. You can buy detergent at the front desk with a reasonable price. The room floor is wooden, which makes it a warm and clean place.||Some travellers reviewed that the waiting time for the lift was long and unreasonable. I was arranged the suite on the upper floor, I thought ... the waiting time...
