Booked a 3 night stay as it was advertised as being in city centre of Seogwipo. Apparently it is not.
To share the experience from the minute we checked in, we were given only 1 room card which we double checked with the counter staff and was told only 1. This means both have to leave the room should we need to run an errand. The card reader does not allow a “dummy” card, which leaves the room in complete darkness when card is removed. Access to the room level will need the room card, meaning trip to lobby will leave the room void of power supply.
Next surprise came soon after we got to the room. The air conditioning in the room is not working, not even when temperature is set to the lowest. Tried various methods that worked from our previous 2 hotels which none works. Went back to counter to check if the air conditioner is not working and was told the air conditioner is only for heating purpose, which means we have to open the balcony door for ventilation.
Given the autumn cool weather, we accepted the fact of going without the air conditioner. However the road beneath our room is an artery road leading to the port and residential areas. Motor vehicle sound and blaring motorcycles could be heard distinctly even thought we are on level 10.
Add on to our dismay, the room clearly states non smoking. Neighbours guests from room above or underneath is clearly ignoring the house rule and smoking is done in the balcony.
This hotel could have better indicate clearly on the air conditioning system on the booking website so as keep heat conscientious...
Read moreUnpleasant stay in this hotel because airconditioning in the room can't be turned on because it is controlled centrally and it was switched off because the reception staff said that the weather was cold and guests don't need airconditioning and can just open the window. Inside the room the temperature was 26.2 degrees Celcius (warm and humid) and they said the weather was cold. We were sweating sleeping at night and couldn't sleep properly because the room was warm and humid. I spoke to the reception staff and there was no offer of delivering a fan to our room at all. The guy just kept repeating that the weather was winter and cold and I kept repeating to him that the room was hot. So after few times repeating the same thing and there was no solution, I didn't want to waste my time talking to the unhelpful reception guy and I just hang up the phone. The hotel has misleading and false information that the room has airconditioning. It should inform guests that rooms do not have control of airconditioning and controlled by the hotel. November is considered winter and cold so no airconditioning will be turned on. The hotel claimed 4 star rating and it is not true due to the disfunctioning airconditioning in the room.No way I will go back to this hotel again as there are many other hotels which have working airconditioning in the rooms no matter what the weather is and also after the bad experience with the hotel's...
Read moreManagement need to look into flexibility in the check in policy.
Reached the hotel at 10am and asked if we could check in since we took a red eye flight. The lady told us if we want to check in now, we have to pay a fee which we asked how much is it.
Before she could answer, her male colleague cut in and reject us straight away and said check in is only at 3pm with a super rude tone.
We didnt want to spoil the start of our trip so we didnt argue and left our luggages there.
We came back to the hotel at 1415hrs, we asked if there is any rooms available. Before the girl could ans, that same rude male staff cut in and said check in is at 3pm without even checking the system And told us to wait.
So we went to the sitting area and we notice everyone else were all waiting there. Even people who came at 1440hrs got rejected. This is so ridiculous.
At 1455hrs, the staff came and told us we can check in, and a long queue is formed.
After all the wait, we got checked in to a dirty room :) And the staff had to change a room for us.
Is it really necessary to do this?
They should really look into it.
Very very narrow parking. And still they allow cars to park at the driveway slope within the carpark.
Rooms were very noisy, not sure is it cos we are at 3rd floor. The sound of the heater or water tank was so noisy the whole night and we couldnt sleep.
Thannkfully its only for 1 night before we move to another...
