As an avid fan of grilling meats over charcoal back in Singapore, I am thoroughly satisfied with the meats that I have consumed at this restaurant. The vast majority of the KBBQ places in Jeju-do serve their local black pork to their customers, and if you haven't heard about it, it's time you tune in to Korean Pork Belly Rhapsody on Netflix.
I ordered a serving each of the pork jowl and pork neck, and it was the perfect balance between lean and fat. Paired with the juicy and fresh lettuce, garlic, Kimchi, and marinated spring onions, I literally caught a glimpse of food gods. Korea's best kept culinary secret, the ganjang gejang (Soy Sauce Marinated Raw Crab), was a complimentary appetiser I guess? It was so plump, juicy, and perfectly seasoned without being overly salty.
Skip their price-enticing doenjang jjigae. There's crab, and prawns/crawdads in it, too many crustaceans in a day. Love the tofu and soup though.
Total damage 52k KRW because I ordered an ice cold beer to flush down the cholesterols. Will be coming back for more after my hike up...
Read moreOne thing about going to Kbbq is that you have to cook. Well I don't necessarily like it but we had to try the black pig BBQ at least once on our trip to Jeju. We were glad we picked this location. Great food and the staff cooked our food for us although I'm not sure if this is the norm. We caught this place right after a big party had just left so the restaurant was quite for little while. I highly remember trying this place out....
