Its a budget motel as the price for double room is less than 40k won..but the room is so much nicer as i thought like at executive suite room lol. Its very easy to get here by subway to singil (line 5) and take exit 3. walk along the small alley beside the railway till you find R hotel. Kakao motel just in front of the R hotel, beside a market. About 5minutes walk from subway. Their staffs are really nice. we keep our luggage a day before, because we have to take a long journey to other place first. The ahjumma couldnt understand what we were saying and keep giving us for 3rd floor room. but she is nice, still greet us with smile although we dont understand each other. She could speak in chinese but not english. Luckily, i bought a korean book guidance and found a single sentence to mention her that with will stay at tomorrow night. Before, she call her boss that could speak english i think. After settle everything, we back to kakao motel tomorrow evening. She gave us 2 room choices. Maybe she felt that our luggage are quite heavy, she gave us choices...3rd floor and 1st floor (in front of the office). Lastly, we chose the 1st floor of course. The ahjeossi also greet us very nice. The room is really big, seems like a family room and complete with everything, complete with heating system in bathroom, floor and heating blanket. Like we can stay for 7-8 peoples in that room. Its a really nice budget...
Read moreKakao Motel is centrally located, just a 20-minute train ride from popular areas like Itaewon and Hongdae.
The rooms are surprisingly spacious—larger than many 4-star hotels—and feature three windows in the bedroom, allowing plenty of natural light and fresh air. You can even open the windows in the bathroom. I booked through Agoda after searching budget hotels by location.
The bedroom includes a large desk and office chair. It had a full size window to the street, a table with 3 comfortable chairs, bench for luggage, mini fridge, big mirrors making it an excellent space for work or relaxation. Excellent WiFi
Although the bathroom does not have a bidet, the overall room setup offers great value for the price, which is around $65 USD per night.
The front desk staff speak little English and can seem a bit less welcoming, but this is a minor drawback considering the excellent value.
The motel isn’t luxurious and room had a slightly musty smell, but it is more comfortable and spacious than expected. Mattress and bedding was comfortable and clean.
Additional perks include phone chargers, 3 large windows that open, spacious room and great location. The motel is within walking distance to the train station that has a direct train connection to Seoul Airport.
Overall, Kakao Motel Seoul offers outstanding value for budget travelers looking for a comfortable, well-located stay. Highly...
Read moreThe hotel is simple and nice. The staff can speak a little English. The room size is average. I booked the double bed and it’s not hard or completely soft. Just okay. The room has a little balcony area that you can use if you need to smoke. It’s not big enough to fit a chair. It’s just for standing. Breakfast is not provided but you can get food downstairs at the CU convenient store. The hotel is close to the metro (Singil Metro stop). Because of the close proximity to the hotel, it is very noisy at nights. Hotel provides only small towels. No tea or coffee. But there is a refrigerator and kettle. Outside your door on each floor, there is a microwave. Two bottles of water is provided each day.Other things provided: hangers, tv, Wi-Fi, chargers, hair dryer, toiletries (some items seems they were possibly left by previous tenants. I’m not sure). Rooms are not cleaned daily. Only the towels replaced and water refill. When it’s check out time, there is no need to wait in line just leave your room key in the box provided in the elevator. If you choose to visit Seoul and stay at this hotel, good luck and enjoy...
