This is perfect accomodation for those who are budget conscious and know what they are getting into with regards to a capsule hotel and shared bathroom and shower facilities.
The checkin process was quite simple - I arrived late and they had left instructions for me right on the front door. The capsule itself was spacious enough and whilst sometimes a bit warm it was never uncomfortable.
There are lockers for larger luggage but to some of the other reviews here, the master keys are left outside for anyone to use so it’s a bit of a trust exercise. I would recommend taking out valuables such as passport and keeping that in the capsule with you.
As a positive, the capsules themselves lock - both from the inside and a key can be rented to lock them from the outside whilst you’re away. I prefer these to capsules that simply have a curtain and no lock. It doesn’t do much for soundproofing but very little outside light gets into the capsule once closed. I had no issues with my roommates and noise. The capsule itself is clean enough - no bad smells or mould/dried spots.
The shared bathroom and showers are sufficient - they are clean enough. A towel is provided in your capsule and also in the showers if you need another one, but these towels go very quickly.
Location wise - this is actually closer to the station AFTER Myeongdong (Chungmuro) - about a 5 minute walk from that station. It’s also in a street that seems quite industrial - but not unsafe. This is an important note - it will take about 20min to get to Myeongdong for instance once you take into account the walk to the station and the train...

But one would expect just a place to sleep and clean towels provided. ||||I am almost sure this place does NOT clean the bed sheets because I found garbage on the side of the bed. Had they switched to new bed sheets, one would easily see it. What's worse was their towel. The face towel was fine but the body towel was quite disgusting but I didn't realize it until after I showered. There were brown and red stains on it as well as a hole. I'm not sure why they think it's okay to give that to their guests even if this place was so cheap. The shower stall was dirty, almost no shampoo even though I showered at 5pm and they finished cleaning at 3pm or something and the stall I went to was not wet meaning no one showered there before I did. The extra towels weren't refilled either. Pretty much, if you expect just a place to sleep (maybe bad sleep) then it is fine considering the price. But bring your own toothbrush and toothpaste and towels too.||||I know it was a cheap deal, but surely enough, no one would mind paying a few extra bucks if they needed it for better and thorough cleaning. Even pre-covid times, this should be the norm. But during covid period? Why would you not clean the place? The guy seemed nice but no communication when I needed him in the morning of check out because no one was there and no one picked up for over 10 minutes.||||Please search $11 Korean Capsule Hotel to see my experience on YT.||This was bad only based on my experience. Read moreGood points - The bed itself was comfortable and the floor for the most part was quiet. It's in a good location, with easy access to most sight seeing areas.
Bad points - Not very good for female travellers in my opinion. There is no point in getting a bed in an all female floor when anyone can access it. Not to mention, there is only one floor to take a shower and it is mixed. If you are a woman that doesn't like sharing such facilities with the opposite gender, definitely avoid. ALSO - I notice some Muslim women staying. Please be aware that the showers are mixed and I'm sure in Islam, it is not acceptable to share such a space with the opposite gender, making this capsule not Muslim friendly.
The free shampoo and body wash they provide is male shampoo and body wash. You can tell by the smell. Also, it's clear that they don't clean that much. The same shower mats will just lay there for DAYS soaking wet. The mirror area has used brushes and a used hair iron which is completely unhygienic! The receptionist area is also cluttered with boxes and random bottles. Sometimes, the elevator will also be full of random things because the owner forget about them I guess. Also, this is personal, but my capsule had some insects on the wall and in the towel they provided. They are "cleaning" but not good enough. Even though this is a capsule hotel, I want them to consider basic hygiene and think -- "would I be comfortable living like this in my own home?" If they honestly think the way they clean is good enough, I suggest staying...
