The hanok is clean & tidy, at first we thought it might not be suitable for children but then turn out the house is exactly what the kids need to enjoy & relax. It's new build but kept as a typical hanok, we recommend to choose Gaenari room if you travel with children because that is the only one with indoor restroom. The Kitchen is restrict from fire cook but it's fine, if you consider about safety, there are many reckless travelers and who know what they can do once they stay in such a wooden building like the hanok, the endless restaurants, fast foods, convenient stores surround are more than enough to satisfy your hunger stomach. The house locate at the south of the Buckon village but it is in the middle of both Eastern & Western palace, which is convenient to explore the Jongmyo Shrine, Insadong street on foot too. I admit the location is one of its best attractive. And if your legs are tired, the house is just less than 5min away from the Anguk subway, bus stop, and even airport bus stop, literally it's just too close to everywhere. Beside those good points, the limited organic breakfast is well enough for food lover, you can ask for more if you're on budget. Again, the surrouding food zone would hurt your eyes if you choose to eat locally. We had a great time in this house, definitely we will recommend it to anyone that attempt to experience the...

Read moreI am a big fan of Bukchon and hanoks... I was quite excited to stay at The Place given the good online reviews. The location is really good , very close to Changdeokgung, Insadong and in the heart of Bukchon, very charming and quiet part of Bukchon.||||Unfortunately, our stay was disappointing. The provided mattresses are very thin (older pictures online show thicker ones), so it was quite uncomfortable and we did not sleep well. Because it is an old building, noise travels easily through walls so that did not help either. We asked if extra mattresses could be provided, but it was not possible.||The bathroom (Gaenari room) is very small and there is a strange window door in it behind which there is another room/house, a bit strange. We were quite unlucky too as there was an issue with sewers and toilets (both for our room and for the collective toilet of the hanok) were all clogged. We had to use the toilet of a basement apartment across the street... ||After 24h this could not be fixed so we asked to be refunded for our remaining night and found another hotel. The hanok staff apologized and we got our refund without discussion.||Overall, I think this is too many compromises to benefit from the charm of a Hanok. Next time I stay in Seoul, I'll go for a regular hotel, with...
