A good place to start exploring the Bukchon area. There is usually a volunteer there who can give useful and current information (for eg, is it open?) before you walk the area. You can also pick up a free map of the area indicating the spots where you can get a good view of the area.

Just bear in mind to keep the volume down in residential areas as these are the private houses...

You get to: 1) see a Hanok Building interior here instead of just the exterior at the Hanok Village 2) learn about how Hanok Building Construction via a video 3) take a free map of the area and designated trail to follow at the brochure stand.
