I am truly speechless at the level of poor service I received from this hotel.||I was supposed to stay there this weekend but, due to a serious personal issue (which I informed the hotel about), I was unable to travel. The free cancellation period ended on Saturday, but I learned about my situation the following Tuesday. I kindly asked the hotel to postpone my reservation to the end of September—when they had availability—and even offered to pay a little extra, just to avoid losing the entire amount.||They denied my request twice through Booking.com, which, while within their rights, was disappointing considering I reached out four days before my planned arrival. I then tried calling the hotel directly. They hung up on me, saying they had nothing more to say. Thinking it was a misunderstanding, I called again—only to be yelled at, told “ONLY IN SPANISH,” and hung up on once more.||While I understand they weren’t obligated to accommodate my request, the sheer rudeness I experienced—especially from someone named Ruben—was beyond anything I’ve encountered in the hospitality industry. I later received a WhatsApp message from the hotel claiming that Ruben didn’t want to speak with people “who don’t listen,” which supposedly justified him hanging up. One of the staff opened my door while I was asleep like 8 in the morning and asked about housekeeping. I didn’t lock it cuz I sent my friend out early morning and just went directly to the bed when I’m back. She didn’t check out so it’s clear that someone’s still inside. His explanation was that two Chinese girls just checked out and he thought it was me, as if that’s not racist enough. When I tried to argue with them and ask for more apologies, the receptionist got pissed and asked me what I want since they’ve said sorry over ten times and they’re human who make mistakes. It just doesn’t sound sincere at all. I asked what if I was changing and their response was we’re gay and we’re not interested in your body. It has nothing to do with whether or not they’re gay, it’s an issue if I feel safe or not. What’s funnier is that when I said I was ‘pissed’ when someone interrupted my sleep, the guy began to mansplain and tell me that they don’t say it in Europe. Funny thing is that I work in Sweden and nobody has ever complained about this word. I guess Sweden is not part of Europe then lol. Read moreWe enjoyed our stay at Mihlton Barcelona B&B. The highlight of our stay at the B&B was Juliette, the host at the front desk. She is amazing! Throughout our stay she provided us with so much help and guidance regarding restaurants, the metro, and places to visit during our stay. Mihlton B&B is fortunate to have such a great person at the front desk. The location of the B&B is excellent. It is near the metro, bus line, and many restaurants and shops. There are always various types of complimentary coffees, and snacks which were helpful during our stay. The amenities in the room were very minimal and could use improvement. The room was the main negative of our stay. We had laptops and luggage and there was not much room for storage in the room or bathroom. The furniture is old and worn and could use updating. The bathroom and bed linens were was clean but the floor clearly had not been washed in a long time. There was only one very small trash can in the room and no facial tissues. These are all things that could easily be corrected.
