An excellent hotel for a 2 star, would definitely stay here again.
We came by taxi from the airport, it was €67 for 2 people and 2 suitcases (€77 on the way back, I assume because it was a Sunday morning).
We arrived at approx 8pm so they left the keys in a coded box outside with clear instructions.
Rooms are very nice, clean and spacious with a good sized TV and a nice bathroom with a walk in shower. Bars of soap and sachets of shower gel and shampoo are provided. No air conditioning but the ceiling fan worked really well and I didn’t even need it on most of the time as the room was perfect temperature.
Beds are very comfortable and I slept very well. No balcony in the room but we knew that before arriving. There was a mini fridge in the room too and a vending machine on the landing with crisps, cookies, chocolate and cold drinks. It accepted coins and €5/10 notes.
Free WiFi is available and worked most of the time. It didn’t work on the rooftop but this didn’t bother me as I was always able to get phone signal.
The woman on reception was very friendly and booked us a taxi to pick us up on our last day.
There were only 3 loungers and a couple of chairs by the pool but lots of seating available. We were always able to get loungers when we wanted them. The pool unfortunately was ice cold (even colder than the sea), probably why we didn’t see anyone else go in it during the week we were there. A bit of a shame as I was looking forward to going swimming, but not the end of the world.
The rooftop bar was very nice and never too busy. We thought breakfast was served until 11am (as advertised on the Paradise page on Google Maps), but we arrived at 10am on the first day to find it had already finished, and 9:15 on another day and the man there said he wasn’t doing breakfast that morning. He was very friendly and helpful though (and in all fairness he was on his own), and walked down to the ground floor with us to show us a nice alternative place we could go to (there is a cafe called Cocoté and a bakery, both opposite the hotel). We went for dinner on the rooftop on the last night and the entrecôte steak was excellent. The views in the daytime are amazing too.
For anyone who hasn’t been to the area before, it was my first time in El Cotillo. It was perfect for a week, not loads of activities to do but spectacular views and the restaurants are very nice. All independent places (no McDonald’s or Burger King etc), and nowhere too expensive or too busy. Lots of places with fresh meat and fish, tapas, burgers and a few pizzerias. Everyone we spoke to was friendly and welcoming and the area felt very safe. Lots of cats and dogs around too. For an evening bar, Coyote Bar was very good - live music, friendly atmosphere and reasonably priced. The resort had a good level of tourism, it was lively but not overcrowded by any means.
The location of the hotel was perfect, right in the middle of El Cotillo, and a 10 minute walk from El Cotillo beach which was suitable for swimming.
If it wasn’t for the pool being cold, I think I would have left this hotel a 5...
Read moreStayed here in Aug 2023. When we arrived on Sun eve, hotel was shut with no staff arnd. When we eventually got in, there were no guests arnd either. The bar is not open, at all. There is no restaurant as advertised. There is no way to have breakfast there. On the eve we arrived the rooftop area with pool was dirty. The area was cleaned the following day, but the sunloungers and parasols were broken, so you couldn't really relax up there. The bedrooms were nice and cleaned every day, tho.
We got a deal on an online holiday website but were still disappointed as we booked based on the pics (they are def old) and because a bar and restaurant was advertised. In the end, all we got was a cheap room. Hotel itself is in a good location, Il Cotillo is a lovely little town and there are places to eat and drink nearby. If you just want a cheap room n don't mind this place completely lacks...
Read moreOur stay was lovely, the hotel is very close to the beach it also has a rooftop pool and bar.||The hotel is close to amenities such as a supermarket and several restaurants and cafes. ||The room was a decent size with an en suite and a wardrobe with enough space to stow the suitcases. We had a double room. ||The rooms were cleaned and made up on a regular basis. ||The staff were incredibly helpful and friendly. They catered to reasonable requests swiftly for example asking for extra towels or cups. They even printed out our shuttle information on our last full day. ||The stay could have been made better with some minor additions like a bin in the bedroom (not only in the bathroom) and a small fridge. ||Overall a great stay and would recommend this hotel for anyone wanting a vacation...
