Restaurante La Marisma de Mariquita Hierro — Restaurant in La Oliva

Saw good reviews and tried it. Will not be returning, much better restaurants around by the pier.

As we arrived to sit, the young waiter litterally(!) threw two pieces of bread in a microwave for our complimentary saucing and bread. And as Im writing this, they actually charged us for the bread!

When a group of people arrived, they put the tables right next to ours, although ample place on the whole terrace, so bad that the waiters themselves had to pinch thenselves through our seats to go around the table.

The young waiter didnt take away plates so everything just piled up on our table. When we put all plates to one side of the table, he just left half until we left!

None spoke english nor even tried to communicate. They were not trying to be friendly nor did they smile.

The sirloin steak I had was not good, and the mushroom sauce was sadly watery.

If you don't want muskitoes nor flies, don't go on the outside terrace during the day, although at night probably worse.

I had an incredible dining experience at La Marisma de Mariquita Hierro! The fact that the owner is a fisherman who catches the freshest fish of the day is truly remarkable. The seafood dishes were bursting with flavor and the taste was simply exceptional. I couldn't get enough of their deliciously prepared meals.

The dessert at La Marisma de Mariquita Hierro was a delightful surprise. It was absolutely scrumptious and the perfect ending to my meal. The flavors were well-balanced, and each bite was a sweet delight.

We were at La Marisma twice in January this year, and now we came back in our October holiday ...It was a pleasure again, we really like the familiar athmosphere, the amazing views , and above all, the home made food, which is always fresh and tasty. The staff is very welcoming, friendly and attentive, they really take time to make customers feel at home. Last time we went, a lady wanted to know what was in the complimentary Mini soup they offer while you wait for your order, but she only spoke french, so the waiter went in the kitchen, put all the raw ingredients on a plate, and went to show her, so she could understand, that was really kind of him.
