Where should I start. We had enjoyed an amazing experience the day before at the adjacent location la vaca azul. Great service and food. We arrived at el Callao in love with el cotillo, we had only had bliss on this place. Soon would everything change, the moment we sat eyes on this place. They offered the menu on a QR code but the menu was only in English, when I asked what boiled parrot fish was they said we don’t know, we don’t speak English. So I asked fort he Spanish menu as I speak Spanish myself and they were unable to produce it… They brought our food an as I asked for the fish to be served, the waiter looked at me as if I was asking him to do something extra ordinary. He said h didn’t know how to… and then proceeded to do it with the worst attitude, he then complained about my English speaking friend for not speaking spanish… (yea hello???) Basically we were there and we felt so uncomfortable, but we had already ordered the wine so wth we just ordered the food. In hindsight I think we should have left at the first sign. Food was good. 10 past to eleven we were asked to leave… On a positive note, the cat that owns the square was very friendly and...

We arrived at the restaurant around 15:15 and were greeted by a friendly older waiter. We asked if we could sit at a larger table by the water since we had two dogs with us. "No problem," he said.

I have never experienced such arrogance in the service industry! I have worked in this field for over 30 years and know how guests should be treated. If he had at least asked politely, we could have given an answer. But to simply walk up with the other guests and kick us out? Unacceptable!
We decided to leave without eating, which is a shame because we had been looking forward to the food. But after being treated like this? Never again. That waiter has no business working in...
Read moreI have to give a 5-stars review to El Callao restaurant. I had fish and it was delicious. The staff was extremely kind what welcomed us splendidly.
El Callao restaurant is a true gem of seafood cuisine. I had the pleasure of tasting some of the fish dishes and I must say they were all delicious. The fish was very fresh and cooked to perfection, with intense and balanced flavors.
But not only was the food exceptional, the service was impeccable as well. The staff was very attentive to our needs and made us feel comfortable from the very beginning. In particular, the owner Nenu was very welcoming and made us feel at home.
Furthermore, the atmosphere of the restaurant is very pleasant and relaxing, with elegant decor and attention to detail.
In conclusion, I highly recommend El Callao restaurant to anyone who loves fish and wants to taste high-quality dishes in a welcoming and refined environment. It definitely deserves a...
