Sercotel Calle Major, Logroño - not a hotel I'd recommend, and especially not for motorcyclists
Logroño is a really attractive and interesting city, highly recommended. The Sercotel Calle Major is very conveniently located. However for me the downsides of that particular hotel greatly outweighed the good.
On arrival - by motorcycle - I was informed that parking my small bike would cost the same as it would to park a huge 4x4. There were several places in the garage where a bike could be parked without using or obstructing a car place but nevertheless a reduced cost was flatly refused. A mean, stingy start to things.
On getting to my room, on a cold day (overnight down to 7C) I then discovered that the heating was all off - regardless of the thermostat setting, cold air emerged from the grille. The room remained cold all night. The rock-hard pillows - filled with some sort of tough rubber foam - didn't help with sleep, nor did the intrusive noise - from other floors, banging doors, chatter in the hallway. There's little sound isolation in this place.
On checking out, it turned out that the hotel retains the right to extract money from your credit card - without your further authorisation or prior agreement - an arrangement no doubt convenient for the management but open to fraud or error, chargeable to you the hapless guest.
I would not consider staying again in the Sercotel Calle Mayor for any future...
Read moreMy husband and I are pilgrims of the Camino de Santiago. I got very sick and needed to stop for 2 days in order to recover. We successfully modified 2 reservations booked through the same platform (Priceline) in Pamplona and Estella, however, Sercotel Calle Mayor hotel took our money and was unwilling to move the reservation although there was availability at their premises. This hotel and the manager, Bianca, was strictly referring to their standard policies, to keep 100% of our money without providing their services and showing absolutely no empathy, unlike the other 2 lodgings in Pamplona and Estella , where they were more flexible and understanding beyond their standard policies.
Beware and careful of staying in this hotel as unexpected hiccups can happen, specially if you are a pilgrim, Sercotel Calle Mayor hotel is not willing to support in these unexpected and unfortunate situations. They stole $117 although we repeatedly asked Bianca for a credit for the new dates but she immediately refused showing no empathy for our unfortunate situation. It’s mind blowing and astonishing to see the difference in customer service between the Pamplona and Estella lodgings versus Sercotel Calle Mayor.
Beware! This is a no-go for tourists, specially if you...

I am currently staying at Sercotel Hotel here in Logroño, and I have to say, it’s been a disappointing experience. The biggest issue is the lack of air conditioning, which is making my stay unbearable, especially during this hot summer days/nights.
The room gets stuffy and uncomfortable in the middle of the night or day because YOU don't control the air, whoever is at the front desk does, and a supposed maintenance guy dictates how low your temperature gets to be. Really frustrating, specially when the sweat wakes you up in the middle of the night. The room temperature DOES NOT get lower than 22 degrees and the day are extremely HOT. When reaching out to the front desk for help, the lady said she couldnt lower it because the supposed maintenance gentleman did not allow it. Honestly for the price I paid (a suite) I expected a much better experience. I would not recommend this hotel unless they address their air conditioning issue.
Save your money and look elsewhere! CALL THE HOTEL BEFORE YOU BOOK and ask how their air conditioning...
