Metropolitan Atocha — Hotel in Madrid

IT'S DIRTY DON'T COME 🤢🤢!! I went to this hostel on February 27 for just one night because I and my partner needed a place to sleep since we were working the next day!!!! We were only there 9 hours and not even that!!! It's a shame that they rent places like this for more than €50 a night!! I spoke to booking because I couldn't complain to the hotel in person because we arrived very late (there was no one at reception) and we couldn't find anywhere else… IF I HAD KNOWN IT WAS LIKE THIS I WOULD PREFER TO SLEEP IN THE CAR. I attach photos of the lack of cleaning of this place since the mattress was full of WOMEN'S HAIR!!! The bed has a 2 cm thick mattress, which is a little more and you sleep on the floor, plus the springs dig into your back! A horror to spend the night here!! The floor is super dirty, I don't know who in their right mind recently posted reviews that the place was “REMODELED” so I guess it must have been the same thief owners of this hostel!!! . Also, with how cold it is in Madrid, they are not even able to have a radiator that works with the heating because they have the air for decoration!! An Argentine lady from the hostel tells us that it takes a while…. Well, what a solution because until the next day when we left at 6 in the morning it still didn't work!!! Anyway, don't come, it's not worth it, everything is horrible, both the place and the room. These types of places should not even be open since they do not comply with the health conditions and cleaning measures that they should have, my partner and I left with hives all over our bodies 🤢🤢🤢. Finally, when filing the complaint through booking, the only thing they have done was wash their hands despite having evidence!!! I WILL DEMAND THE RETURN OF MY MONEY and if not I will take LEGAL MEASURES with this hostel !!!!!

Fíjate , me ha gustado tanto tu respuesta que hasta te saco la editorial en otro idioma para que te diviertas 🫢 al igual que tu imaginación con que la gente orina en el cubo de basura , no se si tú también tienes que sacar otro libro ! Te recomiendo un título para el tuyo : Vida de limpiaclos . Seguro tienes éxito!! Hasta oscar te dan Si eso es lo que hace tu personal que tienes contratado o familia porque se nota que están todos de enchufe no es mi problema 🤢 ya de por si se ve que son unos 🐖🐖 nada mas verlos . Al igual si alguien hace lo que tú mencionas del cubo de basura , para eso estas tú que para eso se te paga , para limpiar lo de los demás , al igual que si alguien orina en un cubo de basura de tus madrigueras de rata a las que llamas habitaciones , pues lo limpias . Deberías conformarte con todo lo que robas a la gente , que para dormir aquí es 100 veces mejor acompañar al indigente de la esquina debajo del puente , que ya te puedo decir que si o si tiene su cartón mas limpio que TU COLCHÓN en el que duermes . bonita noche para ti y...

Booked it in a hurry and trusted Expedia to list quality properties... was very disappointed. Hostal Atocha was a total disaster and the worst place I have ever stayed in, even by comparison to my backpacking student days.|Rooms and bedding were incredibly filthy and dusty. Have been into two rooms as the lady put me in the wrong room at first - both are equally bad. Musky smelling together with bleach smell. Mismatched bedding with layered blankets and layered fitted bedsheets one over another. |Partial dusty translucent curtains. Mismatched interiors scheme is totally bizarre with a garden rattan chair in either rooms , both covered with layers of dust in all its grove.|Got a room with en suite, shower and bath tube were not clean properly and have residue in there... it's so gross I ended up not using it in the end. Sink and its tap covered in cleaning solution residue.|Walls are paper thin. You could hear every single person talking or walking past. Doesn't help that owner and family live within property and children could be heard crying.|Only reason I stayed there was it's proximity to train station as I need to catch early morning train to South of Spain. But if I had time to check all other reviews here, would...

Pros: They accepted us even though we called them 30 mins after and our arrival was at 7am. |The price was not expensive. The morning shift staff (or owner?) was kind and honest to us. ||Though it’s on the 6th floor, there’s actually a lift. So idk why people in other reviews were complaining about it. Maybe they didnt notice the lift (elevator). ||Cons: the evening staff gave us a single bedroom with a price for double-bed room (which was later on fixed by the morning shift staff/owner)||bed bugs!!! |I understand that the bed sheets are new (as per the staff) but i know what i saw. It’s just a shame that the 2 staff denied that there were bed bugs even after i showed them the one dead on the floor, a big one. I have seen another small one crawling on the wall. Shame that they denied as I would have called their attention in the middle of my sleep when it crawled to my face but i was too tired from my long flight to do that. ||Noise: as per other comments, i would testify the same. You can hear all the footsteps...
