This hotel is perfectly located - a short stroll to Morgan mall and a whole host of restaurants and bars. Great choice from £-£££. A lively area, but family orientated and has something for everyone. |The hotel itself is on three levels, each with their own pool. We had an apartment in the royal suites at the top - with an extra large balcony (huge!) which had 2 sun loungers and a table with reclining loungers. |The apartment was a decent size, a well-fitted kitchen and large bathroom with twin sinks and walk-in shower. The bedroom had the aircon unit, which meant the rest of the apartment was warm! |The rooms are quiet - honestly, August and we had no noise from other apartments and the rooms were occupied. Beds were comfortable. Our daughter was on the sofa bed and found the only thing that kept her awake was the heat on a couple of nights. |The pools: can’t comment on the pool at the bottom, but the middle pool in the Sunsuites was very busy. It had daytime entertainment on, music playing and a bar. We only used the Royal pool - and considering we were there 12 nights in the middle of August, you could have had the pick of any sunbed at anytime you arrived. Lifeguard in attendance, pool open 10-6pm. They were strict about the time - and removed towels from beds if left unattended for 30 mins. We would arrive about lunchtime or afternoon and on one day found we were the only people there! Lots of loungers, clean and well maintained pool and area. |There’s a bar/ shop/ bakery-burger-sandwich place on the ground floor of sunsuites, along with reception, all of which were useful. The bakery sold amazing breads and croissants, delicious sandwiches made to order. One evening we bought fresh pizzas and cakes to take away, and they were lovely. Reasonably priced, small menu. |Clean shared areas. Tidy gardens. Ground staff are seen attending to the plants and pathways daily. We did experience a couple of cockroaches in grounds, but not surprising given the climate. |Due to late flight home - we requested a late check-out. They tell you to ask two days before check out, when you add your name to the list and get told to call back the morning before check out. We did and were told we could check out at 5pm for a fee of 30€ Well worth doing, although someone did say they were told they couldn’t have a late check out due to the hotel being full. I’m not sure if that’s true (I’d say not) so maybe it’s the way you ask?? I did always attempt a little Spanish to their amusement. Everyone spoke English, so there was no need, but they did thank me for trying! |We would return. I probably wouldn’t upgrade the balcony as we used it in the evening and not day - I’d say do it, if you are spending time on it. And we would stay in the Royale suites again, as it was so quiet. |The lifts are an absolute bind - but they are efficient and you didn’t wait long for one. |Be prepared for a warm apartment in August! The aircon is good - but doesn’t cool the apartment due to being in...
Read moreIt start with the fact this place is brilliantly located for the Mogan Mall. They provide a gate from the property direct to Mogan Mall. Another positive is the beds were comfortable as hell. But there wasn't a way of attaching them to stop them moving about. I was with my wife so this was a bit annoying. Storage is fantastic in the apartment. We stayed on the bottom floor as this was was with a jacuzzi/hottub........ it isn't a jacuzzi or a hottub. It was a normal bath outside. The bath had jets. ( We paid extra for this ) Misleading, it was in quite a bad state too. Taps having out of the wall and not that clean. I thought I'd try and use it anyway. So turned tap on and because the hot water is in a storage boiler the hot waters runs out quickly. By the time hot water is available the very little you dropped already is cold. Waste of time. Didn't bother to use it in the end. I didn't fancy a cold bath. There is air-conditioning in the bedroom it stays on constantly but is stuck on 19 degrees. It done a job to a certain point but at times we needed it to be cooler. There wasn't anyway to adjust it. My wife would have a shower then we'd have to wait a while for hot water to top up again for me to have a shower. (Very annoying.) The rooms are spacious and so is the outdoor area. It had a table two reclining chairs and two sunbeds. Comfortable enough. The apartment overall were just ok. Shabby and not in great repair. But functional. There is a handy gate on ground floor to access the local Mogal Mall. This was very useful. Pool areas are large but very dated. Pool bar and staff were good. Very helpful happy to serve. Breakfast was on the top floor. We was on the bottom floor. But of a pain you have to get 3 lifts up to get there. The lifts were very sensitive at times. ( I'm not a fan of lifts at the best of times ) Breakfast was ok catered for all. Don't expect a high standard of food. Views from the complex wasn't great. Good if you like buildings. Lack of a decent sea view. Overall I wouldn't stay here again. You can get alot better quality...
Read moreMy friend and I have been going to Sunsuite Royal for many years sometimes three times a year, because we loved it so much. Prior to discovering the Royale we would go to the Terezamar Sunsuite, which is part of the same complex but cheaper, so overall we have a good knowledge of the place. ||In the past I found the apartments to be fabulous with one of the outstanding features being the huge private terrace for each apartment, which allows you to stay within the complex and sunbath without having to shell out lots of money for sun beds and brollies on the beach. ||Furthermore, it was always very reasonably priced. However, things have changed over the past couple of years and I have become quite disillusioned by the deterioration of the place. ||The apartments have become very tired looking and although are ok as a base they are of average quality and probably a 3 star at its best. I don’t personally believe that the quality is now worth the cost to rent them, because the price has skyrocketed to what I would expect to pay for a 4 or 5 star accommodation.||Some of the problems we have encountered are that the kitchen equipment is sparse and on a couple of the apartments we stayed in there was no door on the kitchen at all. In the last apartment we were in the fridge freezer was so old the door was loose and there were hardly any shelves inside. The toilet seat in one apartment had what looked like red nail varnish on it. Also the extractor fan didn’t work and without a door all cooking smells filled the apartment. ||The kettle, although brand new had a horrible smell which tainted your drinks no matter how many times you tried to boil water in it. When we complained we were given another brand new kettle that did exactly the same. So we ended up using a saucepan to boil water for coffee and tea. There are a lot of other things that...
