We had pre booked a table for a girls night out we planned. As we reached the waiter plonks the 7 menus to my friend and guides us to sit on our table. We ordered our drinks n some food. The starters came in after more than 1 hr wait. The food was warm, not hot. We ordered a veg and a normal paella. the waiter when came to serve the paella he threw it on our plates. Usually, waiters take ur plate and pour a helping and serve u the plate but what he did was taking a spoonful of rice, walking over to each one and splashing that spoonful rice on our plate. As we began to eat my friend found a long white hair in her rice, when we called the waiter to see the hair and she seemed confused. The waitress did not kw weather to hold it or take it, finally she took it and went somewhere. Around 15-20 mins passed and we were still waiting for some waiter to come and offer us to replace the rice but no one appeared. Finally another friend asked for the manager. We mentioned the incident about the hair but after hearing this he started excusing himself by indirectly saying no one in the kitchen had long hair and that isn't their fault, insinuating it to be our fault. He went on refusing taking the responsibility for 10mins when my friend who suffered the incident mentioned that the least he could do is at least apologize and immediately ask to replace the rice, which he never did. This manager who was south american thought for a moment and apologized finally but did not offer to replace the rice nor take responsibility. None of us ate the veg paella and we refused paying for it. As we were still hungry and disappointed we decided to order dessert. I didn't get order any dessert for myself as i was pissed off already and decided to place a review on this incident as i have never faced this before, and guess what? The waiter who had served us the rice in the most peculiar manner was looking at my phone over my shoulder and randomly stopped to talk to me. He said that i shouldn't and do not have any right to write a review on this incident as there was an apology from his manager who had discussed for over 10mins prior his apology. I was so shocked and told him that he has no right to stop me or anyone to express themselves and he had no right to be looking over my phone to pass this remark, but to no avail as he was going on discussing that i shouldn't put a review... for the next 8-10mins. To which i stopped answering and locked my phone to put the review later. Just then we decided to cancel our dessert and asked for the bill as that was the worse night we ever had.., The manager appears after 5mins and says he wants us to eat the desserts to which we repeatedly refused, but he said we were ill mannered and shudnt be doing this. So finally as we put out foot down he got us the bill and still had not deducted the veg paella from it, when almost none of us had it and the hair incident happened. We had to again tel the manager that we aint paying the bill, so he said we had refused the invitation therefore he didn't remove it. Finally he adapted the bill and we paid leaving no tip, yet the silly waiter Came up yo say that he apologizes for stopping me to write the review n that we shud go again. The whole incident was so very disappointing! It did not occur to me to have asked the consumers rights document else i would literally have Messed them up for such poor service and even poorer behavior. They didn't only spoil our evening but we came back home hungry and put off. I will never recommend this place nor will i ever step in there again at all. We have eaten in selvática in las palmas and has nothing to do with this sort of service. This was super...
Read moreIt is a shame to be writing this review as the bar itself is a lovely establishment and the food itself had good potential. However, the negative experience we have had doesn’t allow for any higher of a rating. My partner suffers from severe allergies to multiple foods (dairy and eggs), and carriers an epipen (nuts). We explained this to the server upon our arrival and even used google translate to ensure this was understood. We proceeded to order foods and drinks that we were told would be safe with his allergies. His main (a steak) arrived after quite a considerable wait, and the side dish we ordered on recommendation of the waiter arrived did not come with his steak. He had almost finished the steak before his side arrived. Instantly we noticed that the potato dish that arrived contained cream, despite us telling the server my partner had a dairy allergy and the server recommending that side for my partner’s allergies. We notified the server that this side wasn’t suitable and the response was “I forgot”. We were willing to let this slide and my patterned went without an accompanying dish for his steak for want of not causing a fuss or waiting any longer for his food, we were also not offered an alternative side.
The next issue was that we had ordered two cocktails, having also notified the staff of allergies. We ordered two martinis, which is always a safe option for my partner and the menu did not dictate that it contained anything unusual. After a few sips of his drinks, he instantly recognised an allergic reaction. Turns out the cocktail contained egg whites and we were not warned of this despite declaring allergies. My partner was up severely ill for the remainder of the evening. When we complained, the hostess was apologetic but the only items they removed from the bill were the cocktails and we were to pay for the steak meal that my partner only had a half of, despite it being their mistake for the allergens and not being offered alternative.
Overall we were highly displeased with this restaurant and found the service to be shockingly inconsiderate for the those with allergies, to which our original waiter seemed to bare no mind to what so ever. It was lucky that the dishes did not contain nuts, which could have resulted in an even worse outcome for my partner.
If you suffer from allergies, we do not recommend this place at all as no consideration was paid whatsoever. We are grateful for the apology of the hostess, but received no apology at all from the server who cared so little for my partners dietary...
Read moreFrom the moment you spot Selvático from the street, it draws you in. Perched on the second floor of the Puerto Rico Shopping Center — just across from Mogan Mall and right above Spar Natural — the design, lighting, and overall vibe immediately say: this place is worth checking out. The experience starts strong with a warm, professional welcome from the maître, who escorts you to your table with that touch of elegance you don’t always find in tourist-heavy areas. Once seated, the staff keeps the energy high and the service attentive. The waiters are cheerful, friendly, and fully present — you never feel ignored, but you also never feel rushed. It’s that perfect middle ground that makes you feel both at home and taken care of. As for the food? Simply excellent. We started by sharing a standout appetizer: Kataifi de queso ahumado herreño con reducción de calabaza confitada — a heavenly bite of crispy, smoky cheese wrapped in delicate kataifi pastry, paired with a sweet and complex pumpkin glaze. Absolutely divine. For the main course, we had a perfectly cooked medium-rare "Gallega" steak, served for us with two memorable sides (we asked for them, it's not the meat's side dishes, to be fair): – The chef’s smoked rice with soy sauce — rich, fragrant, and deeply satisfying, with a unique umami profile that elevated the entire plate. – Crispy and baked potatoes with truffle sauce — indulgent and packed with flavor. We also shared a portion of 8 sushi pieces, since the restaurant is known for its sushi & grill fusion concept. The rolls were fresh, well-balanced, and beautifully presented — not an afterthought, but a true highlight. To finish, we treated ourselves to a mango semifreddo, creamy and cool, topped with a homemade mango marmalade that stole the show, and biscuit-crunchy at the bottom, as a cheesecake. Sweet, tangy, and unforgettable. In short: Selvático has it all — standout food for all tastes, top-tier service, live DJ music in the evenings, and a cozy-chic atmosphere with just the right exotic touch. If you're in the south of the island — or lucky enough to live nearby — this place is absolutely worth a visit. 🔥 Recommended for: Sushi and grill lovers looking for something stylish, foodies who want quality with character, anyone wanting a relaxing night out with great vibes, great service, and food that...
