El Lodge — Hotel in Monachil

Probably the best hotel in the world. Okay, maybe not for everyone. If you enjoy skiing, then this really is as good as it gets.

The piste starts directly from the terrace. When there isn’t enough snow the free shuttle will take you and your gear back and forth to any ski lift. They also have a ski pass machine, ski rental, and ski school downstairs.

After a day of skiing you can enjoy very reasonably priced food at the grill or room service, massages at the spa, or relax in the outdoor heated pool area that features a (very hot) sauna, a Finnish bath, and a cold plunge pool. Maybe order a drink or two poolside.

The rooms themselves are rustic chic, not very spacious but luxurious and fully equipped. Some access the pool area directly, others feature their own balcony jacuzzi.

We came for one night only not to ski but to experience the hotel and show our kids snow the first time.|First nightmare the traffic from the start of the mountin it took 3 hours to get up 20 or so KM as it was Saturday 10am peak time. |Arrived at hotel and its a lovely hotel. Beatiful room, facilities , location. Not their fault there was little snow.|Had lunch on the sundeck the burgers came out twice undercooked but they gave us the desserts for free. The prices of the drinks beware - bottle of Whispering Angel 84 euro, Roda1 red wine 127 euro . crazy expensive.|The heating in the hotel can do with being moderated as was super hot in the room and the kids club room.|Breakfast amazing quality. Truly an amazing experience, customer service was top notch. Every person we spoke to was very kind and helpful if needed. We only stayed for two nights in the deluxe room and it was cleaned every day.

When we arrived our bags were taken immediately up to our room for us and they served us lunch while we waited for it to be ready. The food was amazing, for breakfast there were many options for any type of diet you had.

There is a rental shop inside the lodge where you can buy or rent all the materials you need to ski or snowboard. The attendees were very helpful throughout the whole process. We were able to ski straight down to the gondolas and ski down over and over again

On the day that we checked out they took our bags to the shuttle and gave us water before we left and took us all the way down to Nueva Plaza.
