This hotel is a major disappointment. It doesnt reflect its supposed five-star status. We feel cheated because we paid a lot but didn't get even close to the quality expected. I wouldn't recommend it, and I hope they reconsider their status so others don't end up in the same situation. This is not a 5 star hotel.
The reception staff is shockingly unprepared, unprofessional, and rude. They treat guests with disrespect, forgetting that we are indeed customers. Moreover, they are completely unadaptive to situations and weather conditions. On one occasion, when weather conditions didn’t allow to go outside, they failed to accommodate guests, even refusing to provide a table for dinner (aside from an outrageously priced buffet) when there were no alternative dining options since we couldn’t leave the hotel. Only when we insisted, they gave us a table.
Also, we were super worried with the storm and not being able to leave and when we sought assistance from the hotel for directions or any information for our departure, they declined, stating it was beyond their responsibility, forgetting once again that they charge premium prices. It was only after we threatened to file a complaint that they agreed to provide assistance and be proactive.
Other issues that make this definitely not a 5 star hotel: The gym was tiny and could only fit 3 at a time. My friend had to leave cause it was so claustrophobic. The chairs in the common areas were old and uncomfortable. They charged extra for spa access, even though the prices were already high. The keys of the rooms barely worked. 5 times we had to go to the reception to reactivate them once again. The bathrooms were super small and didn't have things like bathtubs. The staff of restaurant is very nice though.
Once again, we feel cheated and regret spending our...
Read moreShould not be described 5* hotel, the service is not consistent, sometimes its OK, sometimes poor. The staff are inattentive and slow to respond to requests, and they do not tell you in advance of problems that will cause you delays, for example when the shuttle bus was not working they didn't send a text or email to guests who waited on the bus in the village. And they say it will take 20-30 mins to get a taxi to pick us up at the hotel, because they have to call a driver from Granada. There is a public bus that services this area and the whole village, we haven't used it yet as the times haven't suited us. We were told it runs every 20 mins. The waiters at breakfast and in the bar are good and attentive, but down at the boot room and even sometimes reception, they are not attentive to things. It's not terrible but it is definitely not worthy of 5 star service. The pool is not included and they don't tell you that on check-in. It's possible to ski in and ski out if you are a very capable skiier, but for beginners it's impossible and for intermediates it is difficult. The breakfast buffet is very good, and the rooms are nice and charming alpine style, but the rooms are very hot it is difficult to sleep. We had to leave the patio door open slightly during the day and night. The shower/bathrooms are good, the bed is comfortable, and some of the rooms are quite spacious. There is a ski rental shop right beside the hotel, and you can get a lift there down to the main ski area, it keeps going later than most lifts but I don't know what time it stops. Overall, the hotel itself is fine, but the location is not so good if you want to eat out or go to any bars, and the service doesn't meet...
Read moreWe had a great stay at this hotel. The food was fantastic and the restaurant staff amazing and very attentive. The evening buffet is good value but to get it at the advertised rate of 30 Euros you have to book at reception before 19.30 otherwise it is 33 Euros. This seems a bit odd for a hotel which clearly strives for a good guest experience. The rooms were nicely furnished and clean. Bathrooms great with nice toiletries. The chocolates and turn down service at night was a nice touch. We were given complimentary water on arrival in the room but not after that which is disappointing. There were no tea and coffee facilities in the room and it would have been great if there was an area with these as complimentary. The spa was lovely and well worth visiting. If you have kids though it probably isn’t suitable for them. We tried a massage which was amazing. The spa staff were lovely and very friendly. The chair lift to the village is included in your ski pass and there is a ski rental place attached to the hotel. The ski lockers were great but a drying room would be useful. The bar area with the fire in the evening was nice and chilled. Overall this was a great stay. The only downside was the sound proofing in the rooms - there was none. You could hear everything in the corridors and with house keeping starting at 9 a long lie is hard. We had an interconnecting room which I think made it worse. We could hear the tv, conversations other people’s alarms etc! Not a problem on a ski day but again breakfast only starts at 8 which can make an early start on the slopes a bit tight. Overall though I would recommend staying here as the whole experience makes up for the...
