The worst customer experience I’ve ever had – due to the delivery company that JYSK works with (XPO Logistics).
I ordered a bed and a mattress from JYSK, including delivery. I was told the bed would be delivered eight days later. I explained that it was very important that the delivery happened within nine days at the latest, because my father and cousin were visiting from Germany specifically to assemble the bed and do other renovations. At that time, I I’ve been six months pregnant, living alone, without a bed, and left Mallorca for the renovations.
Nobody contacted me. The person from JYSK was very friendly, but the delivery company never got in touch. We tried to call them ourselves. When we finally got through, they told us that the person from JYSK had lied, and that the bed would not be delivered until two weeks later – which was already a big problem, because I was flying back to Mallorca on a Sunday and needed the bed that evening to sleep.
From that point on, there was constant lying. We called the delivery company every single day. Every day we were told a different story. In the end, we found out that the bed had actually already been in Mallorca the entire time. The only reason it wasn’t delivered was because I had a German phone number, not a Spanish one and the delivery company refused to call a German number.
So the bed could have been delivered exactly as JYSK had said, and my father and cousin could have assembled it. Instead, because I couldn’t return to Mallorca without a bed in my situation, I had to pay someone else to help. The delivery company kept changing the information about when it would arrive and literally lied several times. In the end, I had people in my apartment for 15 hours, and it cost me €450 extra – just because the delivery company failed to do their job.
When the bed finally arrived and was unpacked, the people I hired saw it had been damaged during transport. Still, they had to assemble the broken bed, because I needed something to sleep on.
I filed a complaint and made it clear to JYSK that I expected a new bed to be delivered, the old one to be disassembled, the new one assembled, and the damaged one taken away. The customer service representative at JYSK arranged all of that. But again, the delivery company created new problems.
Two kind men arrived to assemble the new bed and remove the old one – but there was no new bed. The delivery company had told them it had already been delivered, which was false. I told them they couldn’t take the old bed, because I needed it to sleep. So they reassembled the broken bed.
We waited again for the new delivery. Even though it had already been agreed and paid for that the bed would be delivered into my apartment, the delivery drivers refused and wanted me – alone and now seven months pregnant – to carry the bed from the street upstairs myself. After a strong discussion, they finally agreed to carry it inside.
I told JYSK that if I had more time and energy, I would have taken legal action. I have legal insurance and would have sued for emotional damages. This situation caused me 5 full weeks of daily stress – just because of a bed and a mattress.
To be clear: JYSK itself wasn’t the direct problem – the disaster was the delivery company, XPO Logistics. However, JYSK chooses to work with them, and that decision has consequences. I would strongly recommend that anyone who wants to order from JYSK checks whether XPO Logistics is responsible for the delivery. If so, don’t buy. I actually wanted to buy more items at Jysk, but now feel forced to buy elsewhere because I rely...
Also eine absolute Katastrophe!!!
Read moreWe have bought furniture that we have to put together there as well as wedding Christmas ornaments and rugs. The quality of their Furniture is about the same as Ikea's. They have some cute designs. What a my favorite things that they have are big rolls of tablecloth material some of the designs are very nice. Pleasant store to shop at. Don't expect things not to fall apart our Outdoor Furniture chair fell apart within two months. And one of the nightstands also the drawer broke within about four months. But again you're not paying a lot of money so my expectations are low. I think of it as disposable Furniture not for...
