Disappointing hidden costs Overall this is a nice hotel. A bit dated and it could use some touch ups here and there, but generally a pleasant hotel with comfortable rooms. Nice pool (unheated by the way) with a relaxed vibe and the staff is very friendly.
There are two downsides to this hotel. First and foremost, we got charged hidden fees for a baby cod (€15 per night, €120 total). We could have bought a brand new baby cod for that money (or fly our own foldable one in). But more importantly, I emailed the hotel weeks upfront to ask whether it was possible to get a baby cod on the room. Their reply was "yes of course" with no further information about additional costs. Nowhere on the website are additional costs for baby cods mentioned. And when we booked our stay, directly via the website of the hotel, not once did anyone mention the costs for the baby cod. Only upon checking in at the hotel were we informed that the baby cod would cost us extra. But by that time, we had no other option than to go with the cod the hotel provided. When we discussed our unsatisfactory with the personnel they were unwilling to do something about it. We had to pay in full, which was very disappointing.
Second downside of this hotel is the food. The breakfast lacks any real variation. Pastries are not fresh and same goes for the fruit (a lot of canned fruit). The hotel has a diner restaurant as well. Although the prices suggest differently they serve very plain and unexciting food. Not worth the high prices.
I would recommend this hotel if you like a beautiful and quiet environment, friendly staff and because restaurant Modesto is just around the corner. I would not recommend this hotel if you don't want to be charged any hidden costs or if you...
Read moreDear Team Cala Sant Vicenc,
I have to thank you once again for the excellent experience; from the warm welcome I received from Lucia to saying goodbye on departure. Lucia even humoured me by letting me speak in my poor Spanish throughout despite my very late arrival.
The hotel itself is beautiful and set in a stunning backdrop on the North of Mallorca. Quietly beautiful - Cala Sant Vicenc was as picturesque as it was uncrowded at this time of year. Weather was also perfect barring a few rainstorms!
The rooms are spacious and delightful - cleaned very professionally by the housekeeper (I'm sorry I don't remember your name; but I did thank you personally during my stay). The furniture is unique and gave a traditional boutique hotel vibe which was lovely. I even had a huge terrace to myself with a wonderful view of the mountain backdrop.
The food was very good and not too expensive; and the drinks selection was magnificent. Special mention to Toni for being a master mixologist and accommodating my strange request for a dirty martini made muy muy sucia!
However, the best thing about this hotel is the staff themselves, you were all polite, professional and friendly throughout my stay; there are far too many good moments to mention everyone but I thank each and every one of you. Particular mention to my new best friends Pepe y Carolina for serving me so wonderfully on one of the last days when the football was on! Also thank you to Andreu who was exceptionally kind and helpful; going the extra mile to help me watch the FA Cup Final on the big screen - good luck with your studies as well, I'm sure you will do very well.
Nothing more to say than I hope I can stay here again some day. Bless you...
Read moreThis was our second time to stay in Hotel Cala Sant Vicenc (we took 2 rooms). We travelled as a couple with my mother who was celebrating her 90th birthday. The hotel was just fantastic and made us feel very welcome, especially my mother. The staff were always so pleasant and helpful. We stayed as half board guests and I can quite honestly say the food every evening was excellent. The portions are huge and we enjoyed some amazing fresh fish. The breakfast buffet was extensive and plenty of healthy options. Pepe looked after us for the first 5 nights and was so attentive. Lucia was really great also and especially kind to my mother. The bedrooms are huge and the beds are the BEST, very very comfortable. The rooms are kitted out with tea making facilities and there was fruit and wine upon arrival (and a mini fridge). A really kind gesture of a gift of a lovely bottle of champagne was delivered to our room on one of the evenings (thank you very much to the manager), the birthday girl was thrilled!|There is a large selection of books to read in the foyer that other guests have left behind and are free to take. |The hotel is very quiet at this time of year and the weather is a bit mixed, we had some very bad thunderstorms and heavy rain and not a lot of sun. On one of the wet days we used the gym, it is small but adequate.|Despite that, there is plenty to do if you have a car, we visited Can Vidalet winery and the Lluc Monastery. There are fabulous walks and hikes nearby also. Thank you to all the staff for making it a very memorable trip especially for my mother. We will definitely be back and maybe next time with...
