We booked an last minute deal for a cheeky week to Tenerife with Easy Jet and we’re pleasantly surprised with the hotel! I think some things/reviews are a little unclear so hopefully this will help like minded travellers. ||1. The resort is made up of 3 hotels which have been taken over by ‘BLUESEA’ the Bonanza, Canarife and Interpalace. We paid slightly extra to get an upgraded room which had a gorgeous sea view this was situated in the interpalace hotel and is the most modern/relaxed/more adults themed out of the 3. The room was immaculately cleaned, there’s ample storage, good coffee machine & kettle. Our only niggle with the room was that the air-con wasn’t the best so the room was quite hot/stuffy. You can use any facilities in any of the hotels, pools, spa, gym, bars however all 3 hotels had to eat at the bonanza for lunch with is chaotic however there is pool snacks sandwhiches/burgers etc which come out at 3pm ish instead.||2.The hotel is situated very far north, over an hour on the transfer which passed quickly and was smooth. However what we didn’t realise is that the weather in the north can be very mixed, our holiday was mid August and we had 2 full days of dark cloud although still very warm- Research ‘donkeys belly’ and ‘sea of clouds’. As you can use all 3 hotels there is ample space by the pool and no ‘sunbed wars’, we are early risers so popped our towels on our beds around 8:30am and we’re usually one of the first and returned by 9am for the day, the afternoon feels busier and the aqua gym entertainer was fun! The local area had some nice shops, bars, views of Mount Tedie, paragliding, Loro Park and black sand beaches. But we would highly recommend a visit to Lago Martiánez an open air swimming complex with sea water, gorgeous views of the sea and gardens. It’s worth going for opening time 10am-6pm and is €7 per person for entry which secures a sun bed, we took our own water and snacks but the prices were fair there, grounds/toilets clean and really just a wonderful day out! ||3.The food, I’m aware there is very mixed reviews about the food and can see how that’s fair. The hotel had a 4 star review which we would say is a very generous grading, now we never struggled to find anything to eat and ate at the interpalace for breakfast and dinner each day, our was our favourite was breakfast with lots of variety, cereals, yogurts, fruits, meats/cheeses, lovely bread and the hot food proper sausages, bacon, beans and even hash browns! They made fresh churros and pancakes which were absolutely delicious. Lunchtime as mentioned was chaos we did tend to go to the bonanza for lunch to escape the sun for an hour, here we had a couple of incidents where food was not properly cooked off the BBQ zone so our warning would be to be cautious we opted for plainer foods here chips pasta, salads, breads, paella. What was frustrating was we were told a firm no by the waiter one breakfast when we tried to make sandwhiches one morning to take to the pool with us instead, he couldn’t tell us why this wasn’t allowed as we had seen others do the same or walk out with big plates of pastries/fruits. Dinner again at the interpalace was reasonable buffet style with ample to chose from, themed nights mostly and some better than others. The food isn’t labelled clearly enough and wasn’t hot when we sat down to eat, pudding was the same every night but was an ice cream machine which kids seemed to enjoy. There was a nice atmosphere, we never struggled to find something to eat here but was a hit or miss for a 4 star hotel.||4.Finally the drinks, again compared to other hotels don’t think it’s a 4 star worthy set up. At mealtimes you pour your own, beer, wine, or juice into small glasses- the wine was not nice and not prosecco/cava option. The spirits are strong, definitely not watered down! There’s a cocktail of the day option rather than a choice of cocktails which does work and we’re all nice enough. You pay €1 deposit per cup, this isn’t per drink you get your first ones at the start and the continuously swap out for a fresh cup at the end you tell them you’re leaving and get your euros back. There was no rubbish/cups laying around so certainly environmentally friendly. The bar line was never long, they were quick to serve both during the day and in the evening for entertainment. We would recommend either brining water bottles or buying some to reuse and fill at the water station here was a game changer as we only went to the bar for a cocktail or coke! Upstairs there is an adults only terrace bar, please be aware this is not part of the all inclusive. It’s lovely up there but the vibe is certainly not a chill out space as advertised we attempted to go up 3 times and each time was a loud party, full of people you couldn’t move and they were charging €20 entry which included a water, can of juice or bottled beer which you can get downstairs as part of your all inclusive!! From advertisement we expected it to be a quiet adults only area, with special cocktails/drinks maybe even to pay for that but it was a big let down. We spent our evenings either watching the entertainment at the interpalace which was good some different singers, dancers, magicians or on our balcony relaxing the evenings can be loud but all stops by 11pm. ||To round up for a last minute holiday, we were presently surprised by the resort and we wanted to stay longer! I’ve given the rating 4/5 stars but would say this is a...
Read moreWe booked an Easy Jet holiday. This was a rescheduled holiday after our first booking had horrific reviews in the south. ||Room #316 Canarife Palace, 3rd floor corner room. ||Our party- 2 adults and a 15 year old. ||Arrival night 22:30- felt a little left in the lurch. Barmaid refused to serve us due to the time. We had no idea where to go and what to do. We ended up at two Fat Ladies up the road for a drink. Lovely bar.||Pools- we went to the pool attached too Canarife Palace. No atmosphere, lots of shade at times. Perfect location but quiet. Ventured across the road to Inter palace. What a vibe! Music playing; entertainment through the day- darts, mini golf, water polo.||Aqua aerobics was brilliant. This should be daily! Lobo is brilliant with this. He really deserves credit for engaging people. ||Cleanliness- can’t fault it. Yes the rooms could do with modernising but for the amount of time you are in there, the decor doesn’t matter. The mattresses/sheets/towels- spotless. The grounds are cleaned constantly. ||Food- I am coeliac, although a lot of cross contamination possible, the chefs will cook a fresh meal lunch and evening. You have to prebook this at breakfast everyday- this isn’t clear on arrival. Make sure you tell the receptionist on arrival of the allergies. They will email the kitchens. Good otherwise as expected. Variety every night. Snack bar approx 3ish was a bit tedious as it was the same every day, pizza, chips and burgers. No allergy friendly option. ||Breakfast and evening meal is at Bonanza and Interpalace. ||Lunch is at Bonanza only. ||Drinks- you pay 1€ for a cup but you are not restricted to how many you buy. The 1€ is refunded once finished. We kept our cups all week and cashed them in at the end. You get a fresh one every drink. LOVE this idea as it helps keep the place tidy. There is a cocktail for the day. 2 days it was mojito, then we had sex on the beach, blue lagoon, pina colada, strawberry daiquiri and another I cannot remember the name of. ||Free bus- takes you to town from the hotel and it’s an excellent service. Their timings are impeccable. Arrive at the exact time. ||Taxi- 5€ approx from town. ||Siam Park- we booked direct through the Siam Park website, slightly cheaper than booking through the various agencies in and around the hotel. The collection point is Teide Mar the hotel next door. Collection 8:45am and return 17:30. ||Chinese- we ventured out for dinner and found a gem of a Chinese in the same road. As you come out of Canarife Palace, turn right and keep walking. It’s 5 mins tops and was super tasty. Allergy friendly too with all listed. ||Sun loungers - there are a fair few beds in all hotels. You do get some people reserving at breakfast but it’s minimal. We always managed to get a bed during the day. ||Entertainment - the team really do an awesome job, it’s a mixture of English and Spanish speaking although one of the girls did also speak German and French. It’s fun, and it’s what you’d expect for a holiday entertainment show.||Bugs- I didn’t see any.||||The only criticisms I have for this hotel chain is that all the entertainment information is on a TV screen and you can’t read it quick enough. Would be good to have a paper version too.||The allergy menu has to be asked for everyday, again this would be handy to have on show or a copy given to those that requested. ||I also struggle to understand the no balls and inflatables rules. I feel this is too much to Ban. ||||I honestly can’t recommend this place enough, previous reviews of this hotel really did put doubts in my mind if I’ve made an okay choice. But honestly, I can’t fault it. For a budget holiday they really do put in lots of small extra touches I wasn’t expecting. ||The staff are super friendly, the location is great. And although the north is said to be colder, we all managed to burn and it was only 3° different to the south. Don’t be deceived by the clouds. ||At check out (12:00) we kept our bands and enjoyed the afternoon all inclusive until the bus arrived. ||I’ve loved this holiday, We would...
Read moreWe stayed here for 10 days after reading mixed reviews we took the chances and booked this hotel, thinking that we would make our own mind. Our flight was delayed, and we ended up checking in only close to midnight. The person at the front desk was smiley, friendly, and swifly checked us in and gave us each a goody bag seen as we missed the meal times. We booked superior double room with a sea or mountain view, but because of the time of the night we arrived we wasn't able to see anything, but what a surprised we got once we woke up and went to balcony - we had a view of both. (Room 1525) The room was massive, and the bed was two singles pushed together. Matress and pillows was really comfy, only down fall was that it was two single mattresses making a gap between beds therefore we was unable to cuddle as it was uncomfortable (even after nearly 8 years together we still like to fall asleep cuddling), maybe you could look into getting one mattress (instead of 2 singles) to make it comfortable for couples. The room was outdated and cleaned every second day, but the beds weren't changed at all during our stay. Every second day, beds were neatly made, but it was still the same sheets we could tell by the creeses and look of them. Some reviews I read before booking were form people complaining about the food..I do understand that everyone has different taste buds and all that, but honestly, I can't see what all the fuss was about. The food was really tasty. We really liked show cooking for breakfast, lunch and evening meals. Breakfast was the standard spread at the buffet, but every morning at the show cooking eggs was fried then and there and other hot dish varied between pancakes, omelette (or how they called it grilled eggs) and sausages. All I can say about breakfast I had staying there - yummy! They had a really nice spread of salads and vegetables, fruits, and two soup options every night. Could you please tell your cooking team a big thank you from me and my husband for our tasty meals whilst staying at yours! Front of the house staff worked really hard, making sure there isn't a long wait time to be seated at the busy times, and they cleared tables in a fast manner, always being polite and smiling. They all worked really well together, and I liked how professional their uniforms made them all look. Due to only one bar that was located near the pool in the evening time we queued up quite often for a prolonged period of time. Maybe looking into serving from another bar could be something on the cards when the hotel has a lot of holidaymakers staying? Bar staff worked tirelessly and hard to keep up with the demand. You really do have some hard-working staff working for you. Now, let's talk about downfall. There are simply not enough tables and chairs when it comes to enjoying evening entertainment. People are sitting on the sunlaungers just to be able to enjoy evening atmosphere, but as they are not made for sitting, they are uncomfortable, we ended up most nights on our balcony listening out for what's happening downstairs (we stayed at the 5th floor). My husband came up with an idea how you could get more seating. During the evening meal on the second wave, if you would close off outdoor seating for meal time and open it up for enjoying entertainment, you might have more satisfied customers as you have plenty of plastic tables and chairs in the outside part of the restaurant. Even tho we stayed at Bonanza (Puerto Resort) we used a pool from Las Canarias as it was quieter there. Entertainment was in Spanish at Puerto Resort, but if you go over the road to Interpalace, entertainment is tailored for English speakers, and if you have all inclusive wrist band, you can use it there too. We only went over there for the last two nights, we managed to sit at the table there (not on sunlaungers), and the bar wasn't as busy as there were fewer people. We were kicking ourselves why didn't we go over the road sooner. We really enjoyed how we could use facilities of all 3 hotels. Thank you for our...
