Restaurante Pato Laqueado Pekín — Restaurant in Puerto de la Cruz

I see a lot of 4 and 5 star ratings. We were either very unlucky with the order, or other people have low expectations when it comes to Chinese food.

We had duck and chicken, and it was served in what I call the traditional “European sauce” - no flavors, no taste. The duck was probably precooked, and reheated, the chicken was ok but like I said; no taste. The mushrooms was canned, and probably other veggies to. For starter we had peking soup, wich I would give a 3 star. We have of course not tasted a lot from this place, but it was rather disappointing. We have been around in China (as my wife is Chinese), and there is nothing similar to find here.

We have not been to other Chinese restaurants in the area, but I would definitely go for some Chinese buffet - so you at least can get full. But we have decided...

By a long shot the worst Chinese food I have ever had the displeasure of eating. How do you screw up rice? Over cooked and no salt that's how. The spring flats, because rolls they were not, were grease soaked monstrosities, the satay sauce was bland and still probably the best part and the black bean was edible by comparison. Honestly this is amazingly bad the only good thing about it was that I didn't have to suffer sitting in the place because we had a take away. Change...

After eating all inclusive at the hotel we decided to treat ourselves to a Chinese read the reviews and it’s a bit of a mixture of good and bad…. Ordered spring roll and it was soggy and cold .. then pork spare ribs in bbq sauce again cold and tasteless.. fried rice greasy and bland…chow mein greasy and bland..chips were edible. Curry sauce was bland… we had a few mouthfuls asked for the bill and left they didn’t even ask us why we left all the food …...
