The worst pizza I've ever tasted in a restaurant. We ordered 2 pizzas, vesuvio and bianco. We knew it was a mistake to eat in La Paz even before the waiter brought us pizzas, due to the fact the tables, glasses and cutlery were dirty.
We were so hungry and we were looking for a restaurant nearby. We wanted to taste a good pizza in Puerto de la Cruz. However, when the waiter served us, and when I tasted vesuvio pizza, I couldn't eat it, as I only tasted it. It smelled funny, and the taste was soury, I'm pretty sure tomato sauce's expiration date passed a long time ago. Do you really think you can serve spoiled foods in a restaurant? What is more, not only the taste was hideous, but also pizza dough was tough, and there were large pieces of mozzarella cheese which didn't tasted as a cheese and, certainly, looked funny.
Of course, there were no people inside, and the owner was sitting on the table near us while drinking a whiskey and watching a loud TV. In addition, the waiter was rude when we said we didn't like the pizza, and claimed this is an Italian pizza. If this was a real Italian pizza, no one would want to eat it for sure! Therefore, I didn't eat this pizza, I just said "take it away".
I would never serve such a pizza to anyone, especially not in a pizzeria. Moreover, I wouldn't even feed an animal with this pizza. This is a shame. I would be ashamed if this was my restaurant.
All in all, we should have walked away before the waiter served us. I will never make such a...
Read moreOn our first night on Tenerife we decided to eat at a restaurant close to our hotel. Since this restaurant had a variety of dishes we decided to start our holiday at this establishment. The Entrecote was absolutely tasty. And the prawns were just as lovely. The waitress who served us was friendly. All in all we had a nice evening out with good food. This was definitely not the case when we returned the next evening. We were greeted by the person who was the cook the previous evening. He brought us the menues and it looked like he would be serving us as another gentleman was in the kitchen. When we were looking for a place to sit we found that most of the tables were untidy and hadn't been cleaned. When we finally found a clean looking table we found that the surface was still quite sticky as we're the menues. The music was far too loud and the lights were brighter than the previous night so the true colours of the restaurant were shown. The place looks tacky and run down from the inside. One table in the far corner looks like the owner set up his office there. After almost losing our appetite we decided to get up...
Read moreCentrally located in the La Paz district of Puerto del la Cruz, Restaurante Pizzeria La Paz offers a rich menu of pizza, pasta, meat and fish dishes.
I chose to order the pork fillet with béarnaise sauce and the waiter explained when ordering that there was some waiting time for the food.
The drink was quickly served at the table, but I had to wait up to 1.5 hours to be served the main course, which was perceived as too long, despite the waiter having informed that it would take some time.
The portion appeared small with a few pieces of meat, french fries and a small salad and béarnaise sauce. The meat was not overcooked and tasted small, the béarnaise sauce had a strange consistency and did not taste like a béarnaise sauce should taste.
Salt and pepper were not offered and it was difficult to get attention from the staff. No new drinks were offered when the glass was empty. After eating finished, I sat for 30 minutes waiting to pay.
The meal and service were far below what was expected and I would not visit the place again or recommend...
