This hotel will get a mixed review. The building itself a a grand structure, to the north of the square and in spitting distance of bars and restaurants.
Once a rich businessman's mansion, it's built in a grand traditional Arab style - all windows looking in towards not one, but three, courtyards. These are populated by ferns, flowers and trees in huge earthenware urns. On what are clearly the original terracotta tiles in the courtyards, tables and chairs laid out for those who still smoke - bonsai trees on some
The whole aspect has a lovely calm effect, especially at night when the reduced lighting is on.
Inside the rooms (or in room 212 particularly) all is not so well. The safe didn't work and despite bringing this to notice more than once, never did for the duration. Things I call the Med Effect - something prevalent to most Mediterranean countries - is the lack of finish; electric sockets not properly attached to the wall, lack of towel rails, hair dryer not working, hooks on walls coming off, shaving mirror (good) uncontrollable (bad) Little things that are irritating and something that a full time diy type maintenance fellow could easily correct.
The roof top bar with a fine view overlooking the square, is very good and we'll worth spending time drinking wine and writing reviews -...
Read moreWe really enjoyed our stay in this beautiful hotel. The staff were fabulous, especially lovely Maria on reception. My fiancé and I are both learning Spanish and she was very patient with us while we conversed with her. She also had some wonderful recommendations for things to see and places to eat. |The room was clean, the bed was so comfortable and the shower was lovely. ||The patio's are truly stunning, as good as they look in the pictures, and I can imagine it being a wonderful place to relax after a day of sightseeing in the summer. It was a bit chilly for us to sit out in January so we made use of the wonderful rooftop bar instead. ||Perfect location, Tapas right outside your front door if you don't want to venture back into town, which is only a 10-15 minute walk away anyway. The bus stop is also at the end of the Alameda. ||The only comment we have is there was a fridge and kettle in the room for morning drinks but no cups, spoons or tea/coffee provided. It wasn't an issue as we purchased them locally but we did find it a little strange. It may just be because we went off season. |Give this gem a go, you won't regret it. Muchas gracias por una estancia...
Read moreI had to get on here and write the most incredible review for this hotel and their outstanding team who truly saved us. My group was impacted by the country wide power outage in Spain and we were dropped into Seville via bus at midnight with nowhere to stay. We had no phone connection and were running around begging for somewhere to sleep. We arrived at this hotel and they let us know that they were fully booked for the night. They saw how desperate our group was and worked to find an apartment for us to stay that is also managed by this hotel. They got us checked in safely and were so kind to our group - they truly saved us. They saw how desperate our group was and could have taken advantage of us for the price of the apartment but instead charged an extremely fair price and truly just cared about our safety and wellbeing. They even knew how difficult it would be to leave the next day so they blocked off a second night at the apartment so that we would have a second day to recover from what happened. This isn’t just a fabulous hotel - this is somewhere with great morals, kindness and an amazing group of...
