Cobblestones roads that lead me to Taberna el Botero. To begin... I ordered a gin and tonic that was crafted to perfection(bartender Christina really put love into my drink), flamed orange and lime peels that made its way to my glass as well as dried juniper berries for an aromatic touch. @..@ I saw the menu and I had an orgasmic reaction. Croquetas de rabo de toro, cod with tempura and octopus ink al carbon, alioli top. Chimichurri chicken wings followed by the best Rum zacapa sour, with egg whites(pisco sour like) . The male rico suave bartender really made my experience with this drink amazing, I mentioned I didn’t like the ingredients of a specific drink in the menu , but he made sure to create something special for me. A mala suerte postre to end. The food here is so well put together. I highly recommend this place to anyone that visits Toledo.

When we first entered Botero it was an absolute madhouse downstairs, a typically crowded tapas joint at lunchtime, but upstairs the restaurant seating was pretty quiet. It's kind of elevated local dishes. Tempura cod loin was very good, as were both the scallops. The Carcamusa I found to be overly soupy. Didn't seem to have any peas or vegetables in it. The tomato base, which made it more of a soup than a stew was overly rich and sweet, making it taste a lot like Mercadonas artesan tomate frito! The pork and chorizo that was in it was cooked well, but sadly overpowered by the huge bowl of soup it was drowned in. Cocktails only available after 5pm I didn't notice this on the website.

At Taberna el Botero i felt really nice. We arrived a bit early and we enjoyed a beer next to the bar(in the lobby 😃) and the we went up for some food. We appreciated the service of the staff, we tasted begor main course some types of bread with olive oil and salt for which we received information; that was really good. For food, we ate the tenderloin which was amazing, medium rare correctly prepared, very good quality of the meet, excellent. Another appreaciated plate was the country chicken with rice and some salsa, very flavoured and tasty. The atmosphere was not at the same level with the food and service, but we enjoyed alot the food and the service.

While it looks like a traditional tavern, El Botero serves modern and creative food. The pig's ear taco is delicious, as is the yellowfin tuna tartare, which has a unusually fruity marinade. The Cuban sandwich with beef cheek was good but not extraordinary enough to order it again. The same goes for the deconstructed lemon pie that we had for dessert: it tasted well, but the modernist approach had somewhat taken the punch out of it. Overall, though, El Botero is a great place for a casual meal out. They have a broad range of cocktails, many of which they created themselves. A dinner for two cost us around €60.

Outstanding. Be wowed! Come to Toledo and enjoy an excellent foodie experience. Inventive and surprising menu. Our favorites were the Duck Dumplings and the Scallops in Curry Sauce. Octopus was good. A bit chewier than we like but the sauce was outstanding. For food allergens the menu is well marked by plate. Beware if you have peanut allergies as I am a few items are fried in peanut oil. ask your waiter. They are well aware of what has what. We ate without any issues. Service is friendly and fabulous. Ambiance is fun with modern characteristics mixed with medieval architecture.

Let's start by saying I know nothing about dinning in Toledo, which is supposed to be a gastronomic destination. This place has amazing flavors; traditional Spanish with Peruvian and Asian influences. We tried the cod black tempura (squid ink tempura) which was a great appetizer. As mains we chose the chilli crab and the octopus dumplings. Both amazing. The crab specially incredible. Mix that with a good white and is heaven. Deserts are also a must. Make a reservation, it can be hard to get in. Prices are pretty reasonable. We had a dinner for two with wine for around 80.
