Hotel La Colmena — Hotel in Valdés

We arrived to be told that a concert had been arranged in the square outside with a lot of noise. The lady owner said we would be free to cancel with any monies repaid if we wanted to change to a quieter location. How refreshing that was. We declined and stayed and did not regret it. The room was spacious, clean and overlooked the main street.||We had to make an early start on the Sunday morning so we missed breakfast which on Sunday was from 09.00. stayed here near the end of August. First a bit surprised that parking was not possible at all nearby, although we then found a spot approx 400m away. Luarca is a fabulous fishing and tourism spot. This hotel is very beautifully done inside and the staff helpful and friendly. Not a huge amount of English spoken, but that was no problem. Luarca is a beautiful town and a perfect stopver for pilgrims waking the Camino del Norte.||The hotel is OK, room OK, location OK.
