Just returned from a five night stay at Mansion de Lucy. The staff are lovely and very helpful. Most of the staff speak English. It is a lovely hotel , the rooms are a good size and it is very quiet, with house keeping daily.|We stayed half board. The breakfast is a buffet including pastries, yoghurt, cereal, meats, fruits. You can also order from the menu which includes an English breakfast and pancakes. The food is lovely. On the odd day there was a wait for the food so if you are in a hurry to get into the park at 10am go earlier for breakfast.|You can get a dine around ticket for the evening meal. We ate at the River Gold buffet, 7.30pm. You get a choice of three sittings. There is a good choice including chips, toasties, lots of vegetables, meats, burgers, hot dogs, fish, fruits, choice of fresh breads and some lovely desserts. My daughter can be fussy but she loved trying new foods.|The hotel has a small pool which we didn’t get time to use. There are plenty of sunbeds and places to sit.|We ate lunch in the park some days. The food is nice and there is plenty of choice. Check the times for when they open/close as some open later in the day and close early.|You get express passes for both theme parks. These are very handy. It does not include the newer ride Uncharted. The wait can be very long for the ride even if you go in earlier at 10am. The express is 30 euros per person for a single use. Guests can go in half an hour early. Again check the app for ride times. Portaventura park is much bigger than last time we came and there are plenty of rides and shows. When we went it was hot so we went for a few hours in the morning and thin later in the day. We need to return as we definitely didn’t see and do everything. |Ferrari Land has two fast rides my daughter loved these . It’s small but worth a look around and has plenty of places to eat. It open later in the afternoon. |We did do a few hours at the Caribe Waterpark. If staying onside you get a discount however when I checked the online prices we were charged normal price. I bought a cabana for 120 euros which included fast passes. It is nothing fancy and the fan didn’t work. People were very rude and sat outside of it so it wasn’t easy to get in and out. There were people sitting right behind it and there children looked through the gaps so there was no privacy. The woman who sold us the tickets was very rude and we had to ask someone else where the cabanas were. The queues we still just as long even with the passes. Not a very enjoyable day. I did complain about the cabana but the staff member shrugged his shoulders and walked away. The food was nice and my daughter enjoyed the wave pool.|We got a taxi down to Salou and spent a few hours looking aaround. I was a little lost in the end so I went into a hotel and asked for a taxi back to the hotel. The cost was different each time from 15 euros to 20.|We also visited the shopping mall in Tattagona, Centre Commercial. It is closed on a Sunday. We spent a good few hours there. We got a taxi there and there is a taxi rank outside the H & M shop. The price was 25 to 30 euros. The hotel can order a taxi for you if you want to go any where. |The shopping centre has plenty of shops and places to eat. My daughter loved the Bershka shop aimed at younger women and those no larger than a size 8 to 10. There is also a shop that sells cheap make up and perfume called Druni.|The flights were with Jet2 and we had no problems. I am also a type 1 diabetic using the Dexcom g6 and Omnipod and had no problems getting through Newcastle or Reus airport. I took plenty of supplies. My Omnipod did fall off one day with the heat but I took plenty extras.|A good holiday and wish we stayed longer just to...
Read moreI’ve been wanting to stay at Hotel Mansión de Lucy since I last visited PortAventura back in 2014. The hotel itself is beautifully themed, and it fits perfectly in the Gold River area. As soon as you walk in the entrance, you feel like you could have stepped back in time.
We were checked in by the wonderful Lucita, who was very friendly and helpful, explaining everything that was included and also arranged all our tickets for our stay. She made us feel very welcome and even arranged a welcome glass of Cava.
Included with the room package during summer 2023 was;
Entry to PortAventura Park and Ferrari Land for the full duration of the stay.
Early ride time on their new Uncharted roller coaster from 8:30am until 10:30am (as well as a few other rides in the Far West area).
Unlimited Premium Express Pass wristbands for both PortAventura World and Ferrari Land during the entire stay.
A welcome drink, as well as an evening drink and snacks between 7pm and 8pm.
A la carte breakfast in a private dining room just for hotel guests.
The hotel room was not to my usual taste but was themed very well, and featured comfortable beds, a fridge, Nespresso coffee machine with pods and Rituals toiletries. They also put a small box of chocolates in the room during turndown service which was a lovely touch. My only slight criticism is it would have been nice to turn the air-con lower than 21 degrees, as it didn’t feel quite cold enough.
We used the hotel pool during our stay, which was only for hotel guests. It was nice and peaceful, and although it wasn’t the biggest pool, it was a lovely place to spend an hour.
PortAventura is a fantastic theme park (you can see my separate review for the park itself on my profile) but I would say that during the summer months the Premium Express Passes are an absolute must, as the park gets very long queues.
Alongside the hotel experience and the theme parks, the staff really shone through, with both the reception and the concierge being amazing throughout our visit. If you’re arriving or departing by train, they even arrange a shuttle to the station for you.
There is no denying that it isn’t a cheap experience, but it was booked for a treat and all the additional extras and perks that came along with the room made it great value for money.
When I come back to PortAventura I will 100% be booking a stay at Hotel Mansión de Lucy. The rooms, the perks and the staff were...
Read moreWe've booked 2 nights with a full-board option in this hotel. What can I say.... It is nothing short from magnificent! The hotel personnel was extremely attentive for all of our requests and very helpful. The room was great: Air-conditionning is adjustable, toilet and showers were magnificent, cleanliness was spot on. We've also had extra towels for the swimming pool. The one thing I probably wish they provided were the bathrobes, it would have been a really nice extra. We've had a lunch option in PortAventura restaurants (30€/day credit per person via QR codes), or in the Restaurant hotel. Dinner and breakfast were exclusively served in the Hotel restaurant. Food quality was exceptionnal, the attention to detail was something I appreciated. Thanks to the reservation in this hotel, we've got infinite access - for all the 3 days we've been in - to both PortAventura and Ferrari Land parks. And not just that, we've also got the equivalent of 'Express Unlimited' for both parks! That included unlimited express access to attractions like Shambala, Dragon Khan, Street Mission and Red Force. This made our experience in the PortAventura pretty much perfect, given the very long waiting times on the second day of visit. All we've had to do was show the wristband with the hotel name + our hotel card and we would get access to the 10 + 5 attractions listed in the PortAventura and Ferrari Land express passes, infinitely.
Having said that, the price per day remains super expensive even for a 5 stars hotel, but given all the perks we've got, I can understand it is well justified.
Will I do this again? If I decide to ever go back to PortAventura park, this hotel is where...
