Gold River Saloon — Restaurant in Vila-seca

This hotel is great with the wild west theme and access to the park (especially good if you want to get early access to the park before the regular crowd! You get in 30mins before so you get to the front if the queue). They park is very busy otherwise at this time of year, early June so buy online express passes in advance. Regarding food onsite, we only booked breakfast which was busy but excellent, so much choice, something to suit everybody. Special mention to all the morning staff who were so pleasant and helpful. The food is nice in the evenings, lovely burgers and salads at the river bar, not overpriced, very friendly staff. Our room, outside the main building was lovely and cleaned every day, great shower and bath. The air con was perfect after a hot day at the park. . The pools are fab and never too busy as guests are coming and going to the park. The only downside is that to get to from salou is either a bit tricky. We don't mind walking 25-30 mins but really you can only access the park by taxi late at night. Costs approx 15e but the hotel doesn't have much on in the evenings only kids entertainment and bars until 12am. We found one pool table in the main bar that was very busy all the time. We wished there was a proper games room for something to do in the evenings. We loved it but would have loved to be able to come and go from the hotel a bit easier in the evenings. El hotel es bonito en apariencia y está situado cerca del parque y la que para mí es una de las zonas más fuertes y bonitas del parque, el far west. Nosotros vinimos en tren y el acceso a pie es difícil, mal señalizado y en alguna zona has de ir por el arcén de una carretera. La seguridad del parque, no nos dejó acceder a él desde el propio parque tuvimos que roderar todo el vallado externo del recinto hasta llegar al hotel.

Superado este drama inicial, todo fue bastante bien. Como decía el hotel es bonito y tiene piscinas grandes y climatizadas en sus preciosos alrededores. La habitación es normalita nada que que te haga pensar que estás en un 4 estrellas pero oye están limpias, tienes bañera, armario, neverita, television y aire acondicionado. Para el poco tiempo que se pasa en la habitación está de sobras.

Lo que si me llamó la atención muy gratamente es el personal del hotel, desde la recepcionista hasta el botones pasando por la barman y la chica de los desayunos de 5 estrellas, super majos, se les ve muchas ganas de ayudar siempre y contentos esto es un plus muy a su favor, vas de vacaciones y no encontrarte una sola mala cara y todo el mundo trabajando solo en que tu estancia sea la mejor posible, es de agradecer.

Es la segunda vez que vamos a Portaventura y la primera vez que nos alojamos en el far west, y no será la última.

my boyfriend and i booked the gold river hotel and got the “media pension” alongside it. we entered the hotel and it does look really pretty but the lady told us our room wasn’t in that building, instead it’s in the building in front WHICH LOOKS NOTHING LIKE IT AND IT IS NOT SPECIFIED ANYWHERE!!! if i book “the golden river hotel” i expect THAT hotel not some random wooden building!
