Restaurante Grand Opera — Restaurant in Vila-seca

We had a confirmed reservation at 19:00 at the Grand Opera restaurant. Upon arrival, we found the doors closed despite both our booking and the signage indicating that the restaurant opens at 19:00. When we inquired, the hotel receptionist informed us we would need to wait until 19:30. We waited patiently, but at 19:35, the restaurant was still not open. Upon asking again, we were told it was closed for the evening.

This experience was extremely disappointing. We traveled specifically to dine at this restaurant and were left waiting for an hour with no prior notice or communication. The handling of the situation reflected a lack of professionalism and coordination, which is not what one expects from a four-star establishment. In particular, the response from the receptionist at Gold River, Irya (a blonde Russian woman), lacked the basic hospitality and accountability required in such situations. I can’t fault the food; lots of choice, well stocked, continuously replenish throughout service and something for everyone.

My main issue which has knocked a star or two off is the service from staff, during dinner service it is extremely hard to find anyone to order drinks. Once they sit you at the table you’ve pretty much been written off for the evening.

DO NOT EAT HERE! worst place ever, food super expensive and the portions are really small. we went there for my mothers birthday and they told us that the kitchen wasn’t working.
