We booked the double deluxe room and when we arrived they told us the rooms are full so they have only one small room left. It was exactly on the side of the entry and when they opend we 've got an heart attack. It smelled musty and the room was feeling wet. The woodstairs to the upper rooms we're passing inside the bathroom! There was a small window which was broken and in all it was really dark ugly and small.||We told to the "receptionist" (young guy working there) that we booked an other room and we want to change it. He called the manager of the hotel and when we spoke with her she was really unfriendly and told us that the deluxe room are occupied. We told her that she offered it on booking.com and that we want the room we booked. She wasn't cooperative at all so we left the place and went few meters behind in the fort harit where was clean and a really...
Read moreI put only one star for my ground floor room. I will not recommend it. It was dirty, especially the bathroom and the bedsheets (with stains all over). There are no curtains on the crystal door of the room and all night there is light in the corridor. The room is very small (only a tiny passage to the bathroom). The bathroom smells. The walls are dirty. Very bad wife. I could not work from there and my mobile internet wasnât catching a signal. The owners are nice but they spend ALL the time (day and evening) there, in a tiny kitchen, which is next to my room. I had to ask them several times to use headphones while watching videos, but still sometimes they talked on the phone. I felt no privacy in that room. The common area is dirty and there are ants in the fridge. Itâs hard to find a good place in Galle fort which doesnât cost a fortune, but try to find...

I still think what you are charged in this hotel is far too much for various reasons:||- The window of our bathroom was broken (!).|- Water doesn't drain properly in the bathroom so it's everywhere on the floor, at all times.|- The room is very bright at night since there are unshuttered windows over the doors and, thus, light entering there from downstairs.|- Wi-fi is slow but that's not a major issue for me though; it worked sufficiently to check out restaurants, etc.|- No breakfast is offered.||All in all, not really recommended and disappointing. If we had paid less I would have been more understanding, but here I feel a bit robbed (like I was in other places in this city, which never happened otherwise during the two weeks I spent...
