My husband and I stayed here for a night on a business trip. We booked a standard room and they gave us a room on 7th floor. The room was very small with marks on chair. The bathroom/toilet was open with the room and had no privacy at all. There was only one door which could either close the toilet or the shower area at a time both of which had no wall to the main room. There was no minibar. The tea/coffee in room was very less. When I ordered the same, i got to know they were understaff and delivering would take time so I went for a bath. My husband went to toilet at the same time, the room service came. We asked him to wait for a minute outside but he came inside the room irrespective of us refusing. Thanks to the weird open toilet/bathroom solution, he could see us without clothes. Even then not everything I asked was given so we had to call them again. The pillow and bed itself were not at all comfortable and we had a terrible night sleep. As if, all this was not enough, the breakfast we had in the morning was a disaster. There was no black tea left again and the plates we picked up to eat were unclean. Had to pass through the stack to find one clean plate. The options were limited and honestly some of it did not look quite fresh. We only survived on butter toast and boiled egg with no salt/pepper on the table too. We left the hotel before check out and needless to say would never book here again. This is one of the most awful stays I have had ever and I travel a lot for business as well as pleasure. The receptionist however was...

Read moreI stayed here for 3 nights on business. It's right next to the train station, which also puts it right next to the bus station, so it's convenient for getting into Uppsala, as well as around it. Being so close to the infrastructure didn't cause any noise problems though. All the rooms are very well glazed (besides the fact that Swedish publish transport isn't too loud).
The rooms were very nicely proportioned, with more pillows that you could shake a stick at. The breakfast was a cut above average, in particular all the fresh loaves of bread provided. Also, the scrambled eggs were very nicely prepared, not the runny mess you often see.
On the top floor is a sauna and relaxation area. The sauna appeared to be a dry one (no water was provided) which I found made it a little less enjoyable than most saunas. There weren't blinds/curtains over the windows in parts of (ladies) the changing room, which felt a bit exposed at night. The relaxation area had nice comfy seats to sit in and read, and there was a balcony with beautiful views towards the south of the city (cathedral, castle, etc). It was a nice place to go relax, with a gentle breeze.
The staff were friendly, and the whole place felt shiny and new (I hear that it was only built relatively recently). The internet connection was fantastic. Internet speeds: download 44 Mb/s, upload 37 Mb/s.
Stayed June 2013,...
