First i was asking the service politely if they are open during the afternoon because we are walk from other side from entrance and saw nobody in the restaurant. ( I Though maybe they are close for a group or party). He open the door and just look at me unhappy and pointing on his uniform and say.

“What do you think we are doing here?”

So it seem its open but i decide im not go to eat here, this is not how you treat your customer but half hour later i came back because my Girlfriend really want to eat here(yes we already been here once) so we are back and he still unhappy. Point at the table in the restaurant and say we can only sit there until 18:00. The rest of time are no smile or anything, i dont even know why they are like this, because after i saw other table came they seem to have a smile and make joke.

Food was okay a bit less salt for my main course.

Its a shame that they treat us like this, i work in the same industry and this is absolutely a no, if its not for my girlfriend, i will not pay even 1rappen for someone to treat us like this , i was planning on celebrate my mum birthday at the end of the months here but no, i will not come again. They need to take a hard look at their service, your restaurant might locate in a tourist spot and people usually come and go but this is unacceptable, i bring you money not the other way round. A little smile, a little respectfulness dont seem like a hard...

Decent food but extremely rude staff. Giving two stars as one female staff working on evening of 22/09/21 was more accommodating than everyone else. The person who seated us and took our orders was the most rude.

Night started by being seated (party of 4) right by the entrance in two small tables in front of the ‘bar’ and steps away from the toilet door. This was not such a big deal but the hallway was very tiny and we had to keep adjusting our seats as other customers and restaurant staff used this walkway to go back and forth the kitchen and the dining area.

The restaurant had a sign in front indicating “trip advisor recommended” but when told by the waiter that the menu was only in French and German, he offered no further explanations or recommendations.

He offered no water. No small plates for starters. Ignored requests to clean up spilled water. And when the daily special was sold out, he came back with a menu and simply said ‘no more’ pointing to the special then walked away.

Overall decent place for food but probably not an enjoyable experience for foreigners who cannot understand...

Would suggest not to go there unless you speak French as i felt ignored the whole time. Had been to many French fine dining restaurants and always had amazing fine dining experience in Dubai, France and Australia. A person who seemed to be a manager hit my chair twice while walking, but didn’t even apologized. We were seated on an empty table with no table setup at all (which i can understand as it was outdoor setting under the tree) but even after we were seated, no proper setup was done, simply given a fork and knife. Bread was served with no bread knife. Waiter didn’t even asked for water, we had to ask for it. He was simply rude. So many things wrong for french fine dining restaurants. Definitely not coming back and not recommending to anyone. The price is too expensive for such food and service standard. I have attached a picture of how our table setup...

The food was absolutely great. I had the duck leg and the entire dish was absolutely special. My only complaint is the time it took for the food to get there, the kitchen is very small and the chefs are incredibly good which means you're going to have to wait. Almost forgot, the lemon tart is great! Update: Yeah, so I went back during the Bern Fest and had the Sweetbread (ris de veau, dish in the photo). Absolutely stellar. Didn't have to wait as long. Definitely a great restaurant. The Altes Tramdepot is a bit more trendy but this is the restaurant you go to to eat fine cuisine.
